Spotlight Match: Pedro Dones vs JGeorge
I know it’s Memorial Day but I REALLLLLLY hate hearing THAT Greenwood song anywhere. Puts a bad taste in my mouth. As for the match, Jgeorge tries to work the shoulder but Pedro shows him how it’s done and hits the shoulder breaker for the win in a quick sprint.
Match: Shooter Boys (Aaron Ortiz & Anthony Vecchio) vs Vinny Scalise & Jariel Rivera
Shooter Boys COULD have become tag champs a couple weeks back but Vinny Scalise dashed those hopes in a blindside with a title belt. One thing is CLEAR AS DAY: The Shooter Boys are over in Cranston. Jariel Rivera is good at being useless. Which is to say, VSK has the edge of experience over the Boys but every time he tags out, Rivera can’t keep the momentum going. VSK finally throws Ortiz out of the ring to the hardwood floor and that formula seems to keep Rivera from f***ing it all up for his team. Ortiz getting beat to hell but he finally gets the tag to Vecchio! Big crowd pop as the shooter boys almost put Rivera (of course) away. Scalise knocks Vechop off the apron and leaves Ortiz to eat a backbreaker spear combo…Ortiz kicks out! Scalise with the save after a heart attack style blockbuster! Scalise uses Ref Gina as a shield and back kicks Vecchio low, setting up Rivera to hit his butterfly facebuster for the unfortunate three. Excellent match!
Match 2: Anthony Greene (w/ Channing Thomas) vs LJ Cleary
Cleary wants nothing to do with letting AG hype the crowd up and attacks during the entrance. LJ getting mocked by the crowd but he’s doing a good job of getting Greene from getting any semblance of momentum going. Greene with a cool variation on a crucifix slam out of nowhere. Cleary still going strong and trying to finish…but AG with a pull up out of the corner, catches LG and falls back into a piledriver for the win. This was pretty damn good.
Match 3: Channing Thomas vs Rainn Conway
hahahahahahahahahahahaha. This is starting like a long form squash. Channing is in full control and letting the kid hurt. Rainn grabs a hand full of of tights and snake eyes Channing into the buckles. Conway has a moment to shine and taunt the crowd back but Channing comes back and taps Conway with a sharpshooter. Guess Rainn didn’t have that dog in him after all.
Match 4: BRG vs RSP
Rickey just rallying the hell out of crowd to chant “THE WORST” at Brett. Gosselin haaaaaaates this. BRG eats a LOT of heavy offense from Page and the crowd is enjoying the hell out of this. The end comes when Gosselin rolls away from a swanton and rolls up Rickey for the win. The worst.
Match 5: Gym Rats (Gal & Nick Batee) vs Better Together (Ori Gold & Hadar Horvitz)
The loving dynamic between Gold & Horvitz is definitely keeping Gal & Batee guessing but the ever-developing chemistry between these gym rats helps them keep control for a lot of this. Hadar finally with a hot tag to Gold, Gal almost taken out with a backstabber senton….Batee crotches Hadar into the post and the Gym Rats hit a Gory Bomb codebreaker on Gold for the win.
Match 6: Erica Leigh vs Liviyah
It’s been a minute since Leigh has been an around and I guess she’s got a kind of JEM & the Faux-lograms vibe now. She’s kind of big sister bullying Liviyah for a lot of this. The crowd doesn’t like it and rallies Liv back into the fight. Liv catches Leigh on the ropes and hits a draping show stopper for the win.
Match 7: Julius Draeger vs Bobby Orlando
The crowd is still trying to find the perfect taunt to get under Draeger’s skin. We have settled on calling him a Lorax. Draeger has one of his best showings tonight against our Mom, trying to bully Orlando and eventually going for a punt on Bobby Jr. Orlando makes a save with a superkick and hits a dab elbow for the win. This match was pretty hot.
Post match, Orlando says he has unfinished business with Gal & Batee and challenges them to a tag match with him and Jermaine Marbury!
Main Event: Bryce Donovan(c) vs Ichiban (for the Wrestling Open Championship)
Man, Bryce has been champ for 28 days and this is his 1st defense? Bryce tries to overpower the inaugural Open champ through the opening minutes. Ichiban guts out a LOT of punishment but keeps kicking out, even through a sequence of about a dozen repeated pinfall attempts where he kicks out at 1. Bryce’s frustration getting the better of him as Ichiban rallies…Ichiban goes for the springboard armdrag but Bryce launches him into ref Scott! Cue Vinny Scalise and Jariel Rivera to make an attack…following immediately behind Miracle Generation, who cut them off and keep their word to Ichiban about having his back tonight! Bryce is left alone with all three Miracle Ones…They go for a triple kick…MIRACLE ONES SUPERKICK ICHIBAN! Bryce can’t believe it! He wakes up Ref Scott and pulls him over for the three count! Noooooooo!
Miracle Generation stays at ringside as the crowd boos! They chants “traitors” at them! Clearly, they are cashing in on the Max Caster 50k bounty. Ichiban can barely stand but the MG hits a double knee strikes as soon as he does. Powerplex! Ichiban’s knee took the brunt of that hit and he’s screaming in pain! Kylon and Dustin can only just stare down at their fallen former friend. Pedro Dones, Channing Thomas and Anthony Greene get out here to check in Ichiban as MG leaves the room, the crowd chanting SHAME at them. What a moment.
