PWInsider.com sends our best to Jim Ross, one of the ultimate voices in professional wrestling history as well as one of the important execs ever in WWF history in terms of signing and nurturing an entire generation of stars.
Ross will be undergoing surgery for colon cancer tomorrow. Ross discussed the surgery and noted he plans to get healthy and then back to work on his podcast:
Pat McAfee shouted out Ross during the Sheamus-Rusev segment on tonight's Monday Night Raw, noting, "Absolute Slobber Knocker" while describing the potential of their match. McAfee then said, "Shout out, positive vibes to one of the greats." McAfee also mentioned Ross on last week's episode of Raw.
AEW's Tony Schiavone paid tribute to Ross during last night's Double or Nothing PPV as well as on his own social media. On Twitter, Schiavone wrote, "JR is my mentor. Since we first worked together in 1987, he has taught me about being confident, about maintaining my excitement and how to communicate my love of pro wrestling to the viewers. We are all praying for you, Jim! You are the greatest pro wrestling announcer ever."
