5/24 NJPW BEST OF SUPER JUNIORS RESULTS FROM HYOGO, JAPAN

5/24/25 Results from New Japan's Best of the Super Juniors 32 from Hyogo, Japan:

Best of the Super Juniors Matches:

1 - Ninja Mack vs. Clark Conners

Conners hits a spear on Mack the throws him into the crowd.   Conners pulls out his tire, and Mack fights him off.   Mack pulls out ninja shuriken throwing stars and hurls them at Conners who dodges and runs.   The camera shows a metal star sticking out of the ring apron.   Conners uses his tire as a shield.   Mack pulls out nunchakus and hits Conners in the arm, and he drops the tire.  

Conners threw the tire into Mack’s chest.  Conners hit a spear in the ring then hit No Chaser.

Conners pins Mack.

Clark Conners has 8 points.

Ninja Mack has 4 points.

Mack should have been disqualified for using the weapon first.    

2 - Titan vs. SHO

Titan and SHO start in the ring.   SHO goes to the floor and Titan was about to go for a tope con hilo but the lights go out.   Yujiro Takahashi attacks Titan.   Titan is now fighting two men.   

SHO kept going for a Boston Crab submission. Yujiro kept interfering.  SHO hits Titan with a chair.    SHO hits a Power Breaker.

SHO pins Titan.

SHO has 6 points.

Titan has 6 points.

3 - Francesco Akira vs. Robbie X

Good match.    Both men put on a show here.    Akira traps Robbie in a Ground Tarantula.   Robbie submits.

Francesco Akira has 8 points.

Robbie X has 6 points.

After the match, Clark Conners attacks Akira and punches him with a chain.  

4 - Robbie Eagles vs. MAO

Another match where both men put on a show. They threw some wicked kicks on each other.   MAO hit a flying cutter and a Michinoku Driver.  Two count.   Eagles hit a Turbo Backpack.  Two count.  They fought to the top rope.   MAO hit a new move which a reverse DDT into stunner off the ropes.

MAO pins Eagles.

MAO has 8 points.

Robbie Eagles has 6 points.

5 - Dragon Dia vs. Kosei Fujita

Stiff match.  They chopped and kicked the hell out of each other.   Fujita hits a Thrill Ride (reverse Death Valley driver)

Fujita pins Dia.

Kosei Fujita has 8 points.  

Dragon Dia has 6 points.

6 - Kevin Knight vs. Taiji Ishimori

After a pose down, Ishimori attacks Knight’s left arm.   Lots of strikes and submissions by Ishimori.   Knight uses his legs to fight back.   Ishimori goes for La Mistica but Knight counters into a backbreaker.    The pace picks up.  The fight in and out of the ring.    Knight hits a Spike DDT and goes for the UFO Splash.   Ishimori counters into the Bone Lock.  Ishimori repositions into the middle of the ring.

Knight taps out to the Bone Lock.

Taiji Ishimori has 8 points.

Kevin Knight has 6 points.

7 - Hiromu Takahashi vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru

SHO and Yujiro attacked Hiromu on his way to the ring.   Kanemaru focused on Hiromu’s left leg and applies the figure four.   Hiromu gets to the ropes but they roll to the floor.   Kanemaru still holding on to the submission.   They almost get counted out.

Kanemaru immediately applies the figure four again.   Hiromu gets to the ropes.   Kanemaru goes for the figure four again, but Hiromu rolls him into a small package.

Hiromu pins Kanemaru.

Hiromu Takahashi has 8 points.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru has 6 points.

After the match, they shake hands but Kanemaru spits whiskey in his face.

8 - YOH vs. Nick Wayne

Good match.   Wayne worked on YOH’s taped left arm.  YOH kept trying for the Anaconda Vice.    YOH hammered Wayne’s taped neck and goes for a Direct Driver.    Wayne reverses and goes for a Prodigy Plex.   YOH escapes.   Wayne hits a handspring cutter.   YOH avoids a Wayne’s World and applies the Anaconda Vice.

Wayne taps out.   

YOH has 8 points.

Nick Wayne has 8 points.

Wayne has cooled off a bit in the tournament as others have caught up.    Wayne will need to win the rest of his matches to win the Block.

9 - KUSHIDA vs. Master Wato

Good match.    Just like YOH vs. Wayne, in a face vs. face match, both men wrestled a competitive style.   KUSHIDA attached Wato’s left arm.  Wato fought back with kicks and strikes.    Wato hit a Recientemente II and followed with the Tsutenkaku German.

Wato pins KUSHIDA

Master Wato has 10 points and leads the A Block.

KUSHIDA has 6 points.

Big win for Wato.   He is climbing back to his spot in the Jr. Division which he lost when he got injured for almost a year.

10 - El Desperado vs. Ryusuke Taguchi

Taguchi teases some comedy but he take this match seriously.  He hits multiple hip attacks and goes for the ankle lock.   Desperado scrambles for the ropes.    Desperado hits a Dragon Screw and went for Numero Dos.   Taguchi reverses into an ankle lock.   Desperado escapes and they trade near falls.   Taguchi gets the ankle lock.   Taguchi hits Dodon and applies the ankle lock again.    Desperado escapes.   Taguchi hits a Bum-aye.  Two count.   Desperado hits Pinche Loco.   Two count.    Taguchi applies the ankle lock again but Desperado kicks him off.

Desperado applies Numero Dos and rolls him into the middle of the ring.    Taguchi taps out.

El Desperado has 8 points and in a 4 way tie for lead in B Block.

Ryusuke Taguchi has 6 points.

At this point, Master Wato is in the top position for A Block.    Despite a 4 way tie in B Block, MAO or Nick Wayne makes sense to win the Block.  El Desperado does not need to win the tournament because he is the Jr. Heavyweight Champion.  YOH already beat Desperado and should get a title shot.  

I think the importance of BOSJ 25 is for New Japan to build household name wrestlers and increase the interest in the company.    Whoever wins the tournament should be someone the company can push into a top position on the level of Hiromu Takahashi, El Desperado and Taiji Ishimori.
