Wrestling Open MA

Spotlight Match: JGeorge vs Mookie Summers
JGeorge does NOT like Summers and is clearly very hyped up to beat the Speedball Bailey/Wheeler Yuta student. Summers has a hot start but JGeorge takes over…but Mookie fires back and taps out the director with a crossface in a little under 4 minutes. An enjoyable sprint to kick things off!
Match 1: Georgio Lawrence vs TJ Crawford
The kickboxing champion goes one on one with the silver bullet specialist. Early on they just put their hands behind their backs and light each other up with hard kicks. This is a test of wills, both guys landing hard. Georgio is able to block the first silver bullet but the second one finds its mark and TJ lands a running knee to put the cherry on top of this three count. Awesome match. Best showcase of Georgio against an always game Crawford.
Match 2: Sazzy Boatwright vs Liviyah
Liviyah is trying to bring some of that momentum she’s built in Cranston up here to spoil Sazzy’s debut! Sazzy may have come out like a face but she quickly becomes the heel in this arrangement. The match is a going a bit rough for Cranston’s favorite but she shocks Sazzy with a spear and a show stopper gets the pin. This dynamic didn’t really work.
Match 3: Rain Conway & Jay Tunis vs Pedro Dones & Eye Black Jack Pasquale
This is looking like an easy night for Dones and Jack at first. Dones is taking these students back to a school…but a well-timed double team leaves Pedro to the wolves for a LONG stretch. Jack gets the hot tag, runs wilds and hits Raine with a spear to get the win. Fun and straightforward.
Match 4: José Zamora vs Mani Ariez (Discovery Gauntlet)
You know it. You gotta win it to stay in it. Zamora is here for week three but he has a hell of a test against the Ariez. This crowd is VERY pro Mani. YESSIRRRRRR! Admittedly I’m a little biased for Ariez here but this is the first Discovery Gauntlet match of the run so far that the crowd is HERE for bell to bell. Mani looks awesome on top and as Zamora starts getting an edge on him. Ariez with the come back and looks to have this wrapped up…And then Zamora wins with a roll up and a hand of tights. Nooooooooo! The crowd f***ing haaaaaates this…but Mani gets an emphatic Please Come Back for his efforts tonight. I can’t imagine a world where he doesn’t make a return.
Match 5: The Residency (RJ Rude, Rex Lawless & Nick Robles) vs Miracle Ones (Dustin Waller, Kylon King & Ichiban)
The Max Caster 50k bounty on Ichiban hasn’t been mentioned in quite a while. The Residency has been trying to cash in on this for some time. RJ is actually having a good start of things but then he tags in Robles and their “persistent auditionee” just ruins all the momentum. Even Rex has a hard time as Ichiban sends him flying around the ring. Dustin gets caught up in a blindside when Robles finally shows his worth with a distraction. Ichiban finally gets the hot tag and their order of the match really breaks down. MG left laying on the outside as Ichiban looks to be set up for a triple team. Kylon and Dustin with the save! Robles left to eat a double doomsday leg lariat for the three! This was super fun!
Dustin on the mic to hype up Ichiban’s upcoming clash with Bryce Donovan for the Wrestling Open championship. And Bryce will have his friends there for it…but Ichiban’s friends will be there too! The Miracle Ones pose in the ring to close out the segment.
Match 6: Brayden Toon vs Bear Bronson
This is a MEAT match. Toon wasted no time and comes right in for the attack. The bear is more than ready to fight back and put that “Unkillable” moniker to the test. Toon eats a ton of chops but comes back with a running shooting star that he should not be able to do! Toon might be eating a lot of damage here but he is looking way better tonight than when he was here last against Bryce Donovan. Bear gets kicked into the post and Toon grabs a Boston crab inside the buckles! These two go back and forth, trying HARD for the kill shot. Bear finally hits a discus clothesline and chokebomb for the win! Toon gets a huge Please come Back for this effort. This was great. I love a good meaty match.
Bear Bronson on the mic and he’s heard Zak Patterson’s challenge. He wants the meat? Bear’s got the meat. Next week, they’re bringing the MEAT!
Main Event: DJ Powers (w/ Georgio Lawrence) vs Big Bacon Brad Hollister
Bacon forgoes the Big Business hand sign and opts to slide in and tackle DJ. They have 20 minutes this week. Is DJ going to survive THAT long? Brad is on top of this for like 90% of the fight, sending Powers to the apron and floor several times. But DJ is doing a good job of landing several disparate shots to Brad’s knee…which slowly starts to affect Bacon’s ability to lift Powers. The tide finally starts to turn and Powers looks to put a hurt on that limb. Georgio with a blatant leg pull that gets Ref Bill to eject him! Nah nah nahnah!!!! Around the ten minute mark, DJ grabs the mic and says that he’s beaten Bacon before, he’s gone the distance…he’s got nothing left to prove. And he tries to leave? TJ Crawford and Love Doug cover both exits and DJ heads back to the ring…to meet a Jackhammer from Hollister for the win!
