TNA UNDER SIEGE PPV PREVIEW FOR TONIGHT

By Matt ten-Hoeve on 2025-05-23 09:45:00

TNA will present Under Siege 2025 on Friday, May 23rd at 8 PM Eastern at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario. Let’s take a look at the card that will air live on TNA+:

*TNA World Champion Joe Hendry and Elijah vs. NXT’s Trick Williams and Frankie Kazarian

*TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich vs. Victoria Crawford

*TNA World Tag Team Champions The Nemeths vs. Matt Hardy and Leon Slater

*TNA International Champion Steve Maclin vs. Matt Cardona (will now take place next week on iMPACT!)

*Tessa Blanchard with Robert Stone vs. Arianna Grace with Santino Marella

*AJ Francis with KC Navarro vs. Mike Santana

*Eddie Edwards vs. Cody Deaner - Deaner gets a new contract with a win

*TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions Ash and Heather by Elegance with The Personal Concierge vs. Spitfire - If Spitfire loses, they must disband

*Order 4 vs. The Rascalz, Indi Hartwell, and a mystery partner (replacing Ace Austin)

*Rosemary vs. Xia Brookside (Countdown to Under Siege)

Here’s how I can see things happening/what I am keeping an eye on…

Rosemary vs. Xia Brookside (Countdown to Under Siege)

This has been a solid undercard feud. Rosemary has done everything in her power to bring Xia Brookside to the darkness. Brookside has been strong in resisting. Will she be able to resist losing, though? Rosemary has shown that she’s willing to use brass knuckles and mist to pick up wins. I would say that there’s a good chance of Lei Ying Lee getting involved here with Brookside picking up a big win. Or…will someone succumb to the darkness?

TNA International Champion Steve Maclin vs. Matt Cardona (will now take place next week on iMPACT!)

Matt Cardona is a really solid pick for Steve Maclin to defend the TNA International Championship against early in his reign. I feel that it is too early in Maclin’s title run and the championship’s history to have Maclin lose. Cardona is a guy who is reliable enough to make Maclin look good while not losing too much in defeat himself. Maclin seems like the easy choice to win here, especially since Cardona isn’t under contract and doesn’t need to be built back up until the next time TNA decides to use him.

Order 4 vs. The Rascalz, Indi Hartwell, and a mystery partner (replacing Ace Austin)

It’ll be interesting to see who replaces Ace Austin on this. However, I see Order 4 taking this thanks to a) their underhanded tactics and b) Mustafa Ali’s newfound aggressive behavior. This could be a solid way to kickstart an Indi Hartwell/Tasha Steelz feud.

TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions Ash and Heather by Elegance with The Personal Concierge vs. Spitfire - If Spitfire loses, they must disband

I feel like TNA has gotten all it can out of this feud and I was hoping they’d move on from it by now. In fact, it looked like they did…yet this match was kind of just thrown together and the two teams will be duking it out again with the fate of Spitfire up in the air. I don’t mind Spitfire being in the title hunt, but not many other teams have gotten a chance and, honestly, no other teams have been built up to challenge for the titles. It’s not enough to fall back on the reliable match - progress needs to be made. While a few teams from NXT did come in to shake things up a bit, they are now gone (with some of them even broken up due to the WWE releases) with no new teams being ready to take the ball. Ash and Heather by Elegance are too fun of an act to have them doing the same things every month. Despite not showing any dissension, Spitfire must disband if they lose - which is a stipulation they survived last year. I don’t think they are surviving it this time around.

Eddie Edwards vs. Cody Deaner - Deaner gets a new contract with a win

I can see this going a few different ways, which makes things interesting. I feel like Deaner ends up sticking around, but there are ways to do it without a win. Deaner could come super close to winning and then lose due to interference from The System. That gives Deaner and the fans a reason to ask for another chance. Deaner could also lose and then get fed up and turn heel - possibly even joining The System. I mean…what better way to turn your back on the fans than to join the group that goes against everything the fans desire? Of course, Deaner could also just pull out the upset victory in a feel good moment. I’m leaning towards Deaner winning, but I’m kind of crossing my fingers for something with more depth so that Deaner has something to work with coming out of the show.

AJ Francis with KC Navarro vs. Mike Santana

I have really been enjoying AJ Francis in TNA. Yeah, I said it. He has come a long way in the ring and he is a very fun heel to hate on the microphone. That is all Francis and TNA working hard to get him to this point. KC Navarro has been great in his role in First Class, as well, and I expect him to do everything in his power to help Francis pick up the win. The thing is, though…Mike Santana is winning. He’s on the path to the TNA World Title, deservingly so. He’s been on the path for a bit now, but it seems to really be ramping up right now. Francis is a solid bump in the road for Santana to drive over on his way to challenging for the title.

Tessa Blanchard with Robert Stone vs. Arianna Grace with Santino Marella

Much like the Deaner match, I can see this one going a few different ways. Tessa Blanchard vs. Arianna Grace wasn’t on my Bingo card for 2025. I also think it’s cool that Grace gets to do something with Santino Marella, her father. On paper, Blanchard should not be losing. However, a loss could enrage her even more than usual and have her go on a warpath, adding layers to her character. Whoever wins, though, will gain the victory due to something happening between Marella and Robert Stone. I think that a Grace win would give Stone even more ammunition in his reasoning to rid Marella from his role. More things can come from a Grace win, even if it does happen due to shenanigans.

TNA World Tag Team Champions The Nemeths vs. Matt Hardy and Leon Slater

While I am not going to complain about this match from an in-ring perspective, there really isn’t a reason for this to be the contractual rematch for The Hardys - unless TNA decides to use it as a loophole in the future. The loophole is certainly possible, but just taking this at face value - the rematch should be with both Hardys. If Jeff not being able to get into Canada is the issue, then I would have either waited or done it on an iMPACT! episode. Leon Slater is a hell of a talent, but his involvement in this rematch forces the whole storyline to lose a bit of the “oomph” for me. I do expect this to be a very good match, though, and I feel like something will happen to extend The Nemeths vs. The Hardys with how The Nemeths win.

TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich vs. Victoria Crawford

Victoria Crawford joining TNA and challenging for the TNA World Knockouts Championship right away is really unexpected. I am going to assume that there will be some chicanery, possibly with Robert Stone, but I can’t see Masha Slamovich losing here.

TNA World Champion Joe Hendry and Elijah vs. NXT’s Trick Williams and Frankie Kazarian

The focus here will be on Joe Hendry and Trick Williams with them facing off again on Saturday at NXT’s Battleground. Both TNA and NXT have done a nice job building the feud and I’m looking forward to seeing the TNA World Title defended on a WWE/NXT show for the first time ever. What happens before Sunday, though? Well…I don’t really see Hendry losing the TNA World Title on a non-TNA show. I won’t say it’s impossible, but I just don’t see it happening right now. I also don’t think Trick Williams gets pinned twice in one weekend by a non-WWE/NXT talent. Therefore, I see Trick Williams pinning Hendry on Friday or…well, Frankie Kazarian and Elijah are a part of this match for a reason, as well. They can play a factor in Hendry or Williams getting the pin or they can factor into the finish while Hendry and Williams are focused on each other. I think the X-factor in this match is Elijah. He has claimed loyalty to Hendry since joining TNA, but there have been questions surrounding his true intentions. Elijah did yank on Hendry’s shoulder pretty hard, which was the catalyst of the shoulder issues. Could the next step in the Elijah story happen at Under Siege? Could it play a role in how Hendry does at the NXT PLE? I think these are legitimate questions that have to be considered going into a very important time for TNA.

Overall Thoughts

TNA has been delivering in the ring for a while now. Under Siege has the chance to make things very interesting storyline-wise, so I’m curious to see which direction TNA goes with some of the results. Slammiversary should be a big moment for the company, so it will be very important for TNA to use Under Siege as a catalyst to kick off some steps to build up the Slammiversary card. While Against All Odds in June should not be forgotten, Against All Odds should be a progression of what happens on Under Siege so that what is set for Slammiversary means more.
