HIROMU VS. AKIRA STEALS THE SHOW: 5/15 NJPW BEST OF SUPER JUNIORS RESULTS FROM TOKYO

05/15/25 Results from New Japan's Best of the Super Juniors 32 from Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan:

Best of the Super Juniors Matches:

1 - Ryusuke Taguchi vs. SHO

Taguchi chases SHO around the arena before the match.   Yujiro Takahashi and SANADA appear and start chasing Taguchi.   One of House of Torture removes the turnbuckle pad.  SHO and Taguchi jump in the ring.  SHO charges at Taguchi, but sends him into the metal turnbuckle.  

Taguchi rolls up SHO in a cradle for a pin.    The match was 5 second long.

Ryusuke Taguchi has 4 points.

SHO has 2 points.

Taguchi low blows SHO, Yujiro and SANADA to the applause of the Korakuen crowd.

2 - Dragon Dia vs. Clark Conners

Conners misses a spear.    Dia hits a DDDT.   Conners kicks out.   Dia takes Conners down with a Frankensteiner and cradles him for the pin.

Dragon Dia has 4 points.

Clark Conners has 2 points.

3 - YOH vs. Kevin Knight

YOH worked over Knight's knee.   Knight could not apply the Spike DDT effectively, due to his hurt leg.  They trade reversals.    YOH hits a Dragon Suplex and gets the pin.

YOH has 2 points.

Kevin Knight has 0 points.

4 - KUSHIDA vs. Ninja Mack

Mack continues to dazzle with high flying moves.   Mack hits an Asai 630 moonsault onto KUSHIDA on the floor.   Mack looks at the camera and says "How do you like that Pat McAfee?"  Mack then hits a flying headbutt  off the top rope and hurts each other.  Mack goes for a Ninja Bomb but misses.   Mack bounces off the ropes into a handstand but KUSHIDA kicks him in the face and hits a Shotei.  Two count.  KUSHIDA hits Back to the Future.

KUSHIDA pins Mack.

KUSHIDA has 2 points.

Ninja Mack has 2 points.

5 - Robbie Eagles vs. Nick Wayne

Wayne attacks Eagles on the way to the ring.   Wayne hits a top rope splash.  Two count.  Eagles fights back and attacks Wayne's left leg.  Eagles applies the Ron Miller Special.   Rope break.  Wayne goes for Wayne's World but misses and tweaks his leg.   They trade reversals.   Eagles hits a dropkick to the knee.   Wayne recovers and hits Wayne's World.

Wayne pins Eagles.

NIck Wayne has 6 points and leads B Block.

Robbie Eagles has 4 points.

6 - Robbie X vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Robbie X is taped up as he comes to the ring.    This tournament is taking a toll on the wrestlers.

Kanemaru attacks Robbie before the bell.  Kanemaru beats down Robbie.   Robbie is selling his injuries.  Kanemaru goes for Deep Impact, but Robbie gets his knees up and crotches him.  Robbie hits a handspring cutter.   Robbie hits the X Express.

Robbie pins Kanemaru.

Robbie X has 4 points.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru has 2 points.

7 - Titan vs. MAO

MAO is over with the female fans.

Awesome match.  Both men dazzled the crowd with their performance.   MAO went for a spinning kick.  Titan caught his legs and spun MAO into Llave Inmortal.   

MAO taps out.

Titan has 2 points.

MAO has 4 points.

8 - Master Wato vs. Kosei Fujita

Good stiff match.    Fujita hits Abandon Hope and follows with the Thrill Ride (reverse Death Valley Driver).

Fujita pins Wato.

Kosei Fujita has 6 points and leads the A Block.

Master Wato has 2 points.

9 - El Desperado vs. Taiji Ishimori

Another good match.    Ishimori worked over the arm of Desperado.  Ishimori goes for the Bone Lock.  They exchange reversals.  Desperado applies a Stretch Muffler, and going for Numero Dos.  Ishimori reverses out and he cradles Desperado for a pin.

Taiji Ishimori has 2 points.

El Desperado has 2 points.

El Desperado has lost 2 straight matches by pinfall.   However, this provides options (Nick Wayne and Taiji Ishimori) for potential challengers for future matches for his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship.

10 -  Hiromu Takahashi vs. Francesco Akira

Both men battled on the floor and Akira took crazy bumps into the chairs and bleachers around ringside.   Hiromu took control in the ring.   Hiromu hits a Super Time Bomb.  Two count.  The crowd chants for Hiromu.  Akira hits a Poisonrana and a hard lariat.   The crowd chants for Akira.    Akira hits a Fireplex.   Two count.  Akira hits a Speedfire.   Akira misses a Fireball but hits Meteora instead.    Akira misses another Fireball, but Hiromu hits a Fireball of his own.   Hiromu hits Timebomb 1.5.    Two count.   Akira counters out of a Timebomb II.   Hiromu goes for the Hiromu Roll, but Akira counters into an O'Conner Roll.  Two count.  Hiromu hits a wheelbarrow German and a Hiromu-chan Bomber.   Two count.  Hiromu with a DVD into the buckles and a tilt-a-whirl suplex.  Another Hiromu-chan Bomber.   Two count.  Akira applies a new arm submission, The Grand Tarantula, which the announcers say he learned from Tajiri.

Hiromu taps out.

Francesco Akira has 4 points.

Hiromu Takahashi has 2 points.

Awesome match.   Akira took a beating but got the win.  Hiromu was very good in elevating Akira to his level.

Akira takes the mic and invites Hiromu to join United Empire.   Francesco Akira does not worry about the men who left, but he appreciates those who are here, like Callum Newman and Jakob Austin Young.  He promises to be the best Jr. Heavyweight in New Japan.
