It is Saturday and AEW Collision is in Atlantic City, NJ at the Adrian Phillips Theater at Boardwalk Hall. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness. And I just sat down after going to every comic book shop I could for Free Comic Book Day! Tonight, Collision is on TBS.
Adam Cole joins commentary after doing his big entrance.
Toni Storm (AEW Women’s Champion) w/ Luther vs. Lady Frost – Women’s Title Eliminator Match
Frost has been spending a lot of time in CMLL and they show some clips of her matches there. They shake hands and then lock up and move to arm bars. Storm gives a promo starting by lying on the mat and then says a lot of slop tarts want a chance at her title, but they aren’t coming for her, she comes for everyone.
Jon Moxley is backstage with Marina Shafir and he says Katsuyori Shibata’s fate is sealed and everyone close to Samoa Joe will be dropping like flies. He likes Joe and Joe is fantastic, but so was Bryan Danielson. He talks about how he will do what he always does—his job—and he is exceptional at his job. Locking him inside a steel cage is fine since that’s how it is always going to end. And Joe better have thought things through.
Rush vs. Sammy Guevara w/ Dustin Rhodes vs. AR Fox vs. Kevin Knight – Winner gets $100,000
Rush and Knight knock Sammy and Fox to the floor and they throw hands. Rush is able to knock down Knight and then stomps him down. They run the ropes and Knight gets a scoop and a slam followed by both men getting armdrags and dropkicks on each other. Sammy and Fox knock them to the floor and they face off in the ring.
Fox avoids a slam and they run the ropes. Sammy gets a dropkick and a shoulder in the corner, but Fox springboards onto Sammy. Rush knocks out Fox and Knight removes Sammy to the floor. Rush gets overhead tossing Knight into the corner and we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Knight tosses Rush against the steel steps on the floor. Knight and Fox are fighting in the ring and we see Hologram is watching in the crowd. Fox leaps from the apron to the top ropes and moonsaults onto Knight on the floor. Sammy gets a shooting star press onto them on the floor from the top and Rush takes advantage of everyone on the floor, running them into the barricades one by one. Rush tries to slam Knight on the steel steps and instead Knight recovers and gets a shotgun dropkick. Knight charges at Rush and Rush suplexes him over his head and onto the stage.
Rush and Knight fight into the back and we are left with Sammy and Fox in the ring. Fox gets an enzuigiri and they go to the top and Fox hits Lo Mein Pain and follows with a 450 for two. Fox goes to the top again and tries a senton but lands on Sammy’s knees. Sammy gets a leaping knee and then gets the GTS for the pin and the win.
Winner: Sammy Guevara
Nice return spotlight for Sammy, who hasn’t been on AEW programming for a while.
Joe has a pre-taped interview from his gym, preparing to help Mox understand that when you call Samoa Joe out, he will show his punishment on Claudio Castagnoli. He understands that Mox has the fortitude to face him, but he doesn’t have the heart. And when they meet in a steel cage, Joe will make Mox understand.
I like these promos. Mox wasn’t going on about his weird agenda, just that he will fight Joe—and Joe is always great at the “I will destroy you” promos.
We then get a hype video for FTR vs. Paragon in a two-out-of-three falls match. And it looks like Undisputed Kingdom is now called Paragon for the entire group.
Cole is still on commentary.

Bayne gets a powerbomb for two. Harley is able to get out of Fate’s Descent with a sunset flip for two. She gets another quick two count. Harley gets a running knee and leaps into Bayne’s arms. Bayne hits Fate’s Descent for the pin and the win.

In the post-match beatdown, Anna Jay rushes the ring, brings in a two-by-four and hits Bayne with it. Bayne turns and grabs the next swing. Ford and Bayne go to the floor, leaving Harley and Jay in the ring standing tall.
Jon Moxley jumps the rail and Marina Shafir takes out security so he isn’t interfered with. Shafir takes the mic from the ring announcer and hands it to Mox. A reminder: Samoa Joe is not at the arena tonight. Mox says he heard what Joe said, and he asks Joe what it is that he doesn't understand.
Mox says he has faced all of the baddest men in every promotion all around the world, and they were thinking and saying the same thing—until he beats them. He says people go from trying to win to trying to survive. Mox expects Joe to attack the members of the Death Riders, and they have been in a fight this whole time.
Mox then leaves the ring through the crowd.
We then get a video recap of Roppongi Vice beating down the Outrunners. The Outrunners cut an 80s-style promo challenging them to a match.

Josh then grabs King’s leg, puts it on the steel steps, and dropkicks it. Josh leaps onto King, but King cuts him off with a forearm. When King goes to get in the ring, Josh gets a neckbreaker on the apron with King’s leg in the ropes as we go to picture-in-picture.

Lance Archer helps Josh up, but King dives onto both of them from the ring. King breaks through security and goes after Archer and it’s a pull-apart brawl. Josh gets a chop block from behind and he and Archer are finally able to get the upper hand. Archer then helps Josh to the back.
We then get a hype video for Cru about how fighting Top Flight is a waste of their time.
It’s time for the Max Caster challenge, and he says no one can last 5 minutes in the ring with him. He then asks the crowd, after insulting them, to do his chant. They actually do it and Max cracks up as he does so.
Max Caster vs. Daniel Garcia
Garcia stomps Max down in the corner. Nigel lets us know how many seconds are gone at the start of the match. Garcia gets a swinging neckbreaker and then a shotgun dropkick. Garcia hits a brainbuster at 59 seconds for the pin and the win.
Winner: Daniel Garcia
Garcia grabs a mic and says he handled his business and after FTR handles theirs, he will talk to them later tonight.
Lexi Nair is with Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn and he will climb his way to championship gold. Brian Christian and Lee Moriarty show up and say that Lee is 150% better than Bowens. Bowens tells him to step up and get his ass mollywomped—anytime and anywhere.

We then go to the back where Gates of Agony and The Learning Tree start to brawl. A local guy wanders into the scene and he’s taken out by both Bill and Toa. They keep fighting as we go back to the arena.

Dax breaks free with a knee to the midsection and Cash tags in. Cash gets a few moves before Dax tags in and Kyle is able to drop them both and lay in kicks back and forth. Kyle gets a leg sweep on Dax for two.
Dax whips Kyle into the ropes and they set for a Shatter Machine, but Strong knocks Cash out of the ring. All four men fight in the ring until Cash is tossed to the outside and Strong follows him. Kyle grabs an ankle lock on Dax. Cash grabs Dax’s hands from outside the ring, but Strong stomps on Cash’s hands and he has to let go. Dax has to tap out.
First Fall: Paragon

Winners of the third fall and the match overall: FTR
Lots of craziness for the end of the match, but everything up to that was a fantastic old-school match.
Daniel Garcia storms to the ring with a mic and a crowbar. Stokely is in front of FTR telling him to calm down. Garcia says he wants to beat them down, but he can’t because he has too much love for them for all they’ve done for him. However, after what they have been doing, he has been looking for answers, and the only way to get those answers is for one of them to meet him in the ring next week—and he will beat the answers out of them.
We do NOT go back to see how Gates of Agony and The Learning Tree are doing, so in a perfect world, we’d open next week’s show with them still fighting.
We won’t though, and next week, Collision is on Thursday.
