It is Saturday and Collision was recorded after Dynamite on Wednesday in the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, IL. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Don Callis.
Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita w/Don Callis vs Powerhouse Hobbs and Tomohiro Ishii w/Rocky Romero
Don Callis is on commentary for the whole show, as Nigel McGuinness is not here for this show.
Ishii and Takeshita start out, so they start with charging into each other and they then throw hands. They knock each into the ropes with charges until Ishii gets a shoulder tackle that knocks down Takeshita. Then Takeshita gets one on Ishii. They knock each other down.
Fletcher and Hobbs are tagged in. They lock up and Fletcher forces them to the corner. Fletcher breaks clean and jacks his jaw as Hobbs smiles at him. Hobbs then forces Fletcher to the corner and breaks clean. Fletcher gets a kick to Hobbs’ face and then stomps down Hobbs in the corner. Fletcher tries a DDT, but Hobbs doesn’t drop. Hobs then throws punches in the corner before tagging in Ishii.
Hobbs knocks down Fletcher with a big shoulder tackle. Fletcher gets a scoop slam and when he goes to the ropes, Rocky trips him. This sets off the tag team siren and all four men fight in the ring as Hobbs is knocked to the floor and Ishii is hit with a double shoulder tackle and we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Ishii has been the babyface in peril, but Ishii tosses Fletcher to the floor. Ishii is able to get a suplex on Ishii and both men are down. Ishii gets the hot tag and Hobbs cleans house. After Hobbs runs into both men in the corners back and forth, he lowers the straps. Hobbs gets a big sidewalk slam. Takeshida gets an elbow off the ropes and after they struggle, Takeshita gets a German suplex. Hobbs gets a spinebuster and crawls over to tag Ishii.
Ishii and Fletcher charge at each other, and Fletcher gets an insigiri. Ishii escapes from a pickup and gets a German suplex. Fletch grabs Ishii for a half-and-half suplex. Hobbs is knocked off the apron, and when Fletcher tries for a slam on Ishii front he top, and Ishii turns it into a hurricanrana. Hobbs gets a power slam on Takeshita, then one on Fletcher, and Ishii gets a basement clothesline on Fletcher. He follows with a headbutt for two.
Fletcher and Ishii both try for a sheer drop brainbuster, and Fletcher hits the move for two, broken up by Hobbs. Hobbs and Takeshita roll to the floor, and Fletcher gives Ishii a short clothesline. Ishii pops up and Fletcher gets a tombstone piledriver and then the Protodriver on Ishii for the pin and the win.
Winners: Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita
Big hoss fight to start the show.
We get a video to hype the match between Jon Moxley and Swerve Strickland tomorrow at Dynasty.
We get a promo from Lio Rush and Action Andretti about how they will beat Top Flight tonight. They then see Nick Wayne and remind him that AR Fox will be with Top Flight. Nick says he is too valuable to help them out. Rush says Nick needs Daddy’s permission to come out and play. Nick says he is his own man, and if he does take out Fox, it will be his choice.
Max Caster is here and it’s time for the challenge. He says he drove through terrible weather unlike someone he used to team with. He tries to get his chant going and when it doesn’t, he calls the audience stupid.
Max Caster vs Mark Briscoe
I never noticed that the “Max” on Max Caster’s gear is the Max logo for the streaming service. It doesn’t help him and Briscoe wins with a Jay Driller after Max isn’t able to get any offense.
Winner: Mark Briscoe
We get a hype video for Will Opreay and Kevin Knight. We then get Lexi with Jay White, who can’t be in the Owen Hart tournament because the Death Riders busted his hand. White says it is a gift because it gives him time to plan.
Cru (Action Andretti and Lio Rush) vs Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) w/Leila Grey
Top Flight attacks before the bell and beats down the Cru on the floor. When everyone is in the ring, we get the bell and Top Flight keeps the beat down going. Dante and Darius double team Andretti and when Dante goes to the apron, Lio is tagged in and Darius hits a drop-kick on Lio. Darius then snaps Lio’s head on the second rope, and Andretti gets a springboard moonsault from the top onto Darius on the floor. Dante dives onto Andretti and Lio dives onto him as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Darius and Andretti clothesline each other. They crawl to their corners for tags and Dante gets a flurry of moves for a two count on Lio. Lio is able to gouge the eyes to stop Dante, and tags Andretti. Andretti gets a neck breaker on Dante, and they double-team Darius to take them both out. The Cru then double-teams Dante with quick kicks, and Andretti gets a springboard elbow for two. The Cru tries a backdrop on Dante, and Darius catches him. All four men throw hands in the middle of the ring.
Lio misses a charge and goes to the outside, where Dante dives onto him. Andretti gets a Falcon Arrow on Darius, but Dante is the legal man and sneaks in for a surprise rollup for the pin and the win.
Winners: Top Flight
The Cru attack Top Flight after the match. AR Fox runs in for the save, but Nick Wayne follows him and hits Wayne’s World and The Cru with Nick Wayne are standing tall.
Lexi is with Billie Starkz and Jamie Hayter and while they will be facing each other, Jamie says that Billie impressed her, but Billie needs to look out for Athena, who showed up to steal her thunder. Billie says she is tired of people overlooking her and she will avenge her loss when they meet in the Owen Hart tournament.
We then get a sit down hosted by Renee Paquette between Adam Cole and Daniel Garcia. Cole has Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly with him, and Daniel has Matt Menard with. Coke says when he first faced Garcia he was with Chris Jericho and was confused. Cole then says he is still confused if he thinks he can beat Adam Cole and goes over his bona fides. Garcia says that Matt Menard was right, he didn't have to give Cole another chance and when he beats him at Dynasty, that’s his last chance.
Cole has everyone leave the room and he explains that Daniel is not ready to lead a company. They stand up, and Daniel leaves the room.
Cash Wheeler vs Pac
They both come to the ring alone and lock up before going to the ropes. Cash breaks clean and Pac shoves him down. They fight in the corner and Pac gets a side headlock takeover. Cash works to his feet and they run the ropes and Pac gets a shoulder tackle and a side headlock takeover. Cash works free and Pac gets another shoulder tackle, a hip toss and a side headlock takeover.
Cash fights free and Pac slams him into turnbuckles and back and forth. Pac lays in kicks on Cash’s leg. Cash is able to reverse a whip to the corner, and then gets a backslide for two. Cash gets a series of shoulder tackles and follows with a hip toss and a drop-kick. Pac rolls to the floor to regroup and stop the momentum.
Pac gets a shoulder thrust as he gets in the ring and they fight on the apron. Cash knocks Pac down, goes to the top and Pac meets him there before Cash knocks Pac to the mat. Cash goes to the top and Pac knocks him down to the apron. Pac knocks Cash off the apron into the barricade. Pac then hits a moonsault front he second rope to the floor as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Pac is still dominating with a two count pin. He locks on a side headlock on the mat. When Cash works free, Pac gets a series of quick kicks and a snap suplex. He charges at Cash in the corner, and Cash gets a bandaris, tossing Pac to the floor and then diving onto him. Pac is rolled into the ring and Cash gets a cross body from the top for two. Cash gets a ripcord uppercut and follows with a flying forearm. Cash beats down Pac in the corner. They run the ropes and Cash gets a power slam, catching Pac in a leap, for two.
Cash goes to the top and tries for a dive, and Pac rolls out of the way. Both men struggle to get up and Pac is up first and goes to the top. Cash joins Pac there and gets a superplex for two. Pac gets a mule kick and follows with pump kicks. Pac gets a German suplex on Cash and then a big kick, again both men are down. Cash is up first and charges into a thrust kick from Pac. Pac goes to the top and when he leaps down, Cash grabs him for a pile driver for two.
Claudio comes to the ring through the crown. Cope shows up to attack him. Yuta also shows and hits the ring, but Dax Harwood shows to take the attacks from Yuta. Cash gets a pile driver on Yuta, but this allows Pac to nail Cash with the bell hammer. He follows with a crucifix rollup for the pin and the win.
Winner: Pac
Another fantastic match ruined by shenanigans at the end to give more build for Dynasty.
Next is a hype video for the match between Kenny Omega, Speedball Mike Bailey and Ricochet.
Ricochet comes to the commentary position.
Shane Taylor is in the back with his crew and he’s sick of people talking about battlefields and wars and they don’t know what it’s like to be at war. They start mocking the Opps and they can’t wait to disrespect the Opps.
Speedball Mike Bailey vs Dralistico w/Mortos
They each try to get the crowd to cheer for them, and Bailey wins that.
They run the ropes and Bailey gets a tejaris and a series of quick kicks. They bow to each other and Dralistico is able to get kicks, and comes off the ropes into a big kick from Bailey. Dralistico shoves Bailey to the corner and after breaking, gives him a huge chop. Bailey gets his series of quick kicks and Dralistco bails to the floor. Bailey follows and Mortos cuts him off, allowing Dralistico to get a big kick on Bailey. He then slams Bailey into the announcer’s table and drops him with another kick as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Bailey gets a drop-kick from the top. Bailey then lays in a series of kicks and hits a running shooting star for two. Dralistico rolls to the outside and Bailey hits a springboard moonsault from the second turnbuckle to the floor. As Bailey is dealing with Ricochet yelling at him, Dralistico dives on Bailey on the floor, and then rolls him into the ring, hits a lung blower for two.
Bailey and Dralistico trade quick two counts. Bailey gets a sp9in heel kick and then hits a second for the pin and the win.
Winner: Speedball Mike Bailey
After the match, Ricochet sneaks into the ring for a low blow kick followed by a Spirit Gun, and then walks slowly to the back.
Lexi is with Thunder Rosa and Kris Statlander who will face each other in the Owen Hart tournament, and it will be their first match ever. Rosa says a lot of people are depending on her to win, so it’s nothing personal. Kris says she will be taking the win home with her. They have words, followed by Kris grabbing Rosa, who pulls her hand off.
Mercedes Mone is with Harley Cameron going over their match tonight. Mone tells her to just stay out of her way and Harley, with Mini Mone, says she is ready for the match. Mone is clearly irritated with her and picks Harley up and tells her to quit stretching on the floor.
We then get a hype video for Toni Storm vs Megan Bayne for the women’s title at Dynasty.
Mercedes Mone and Harley Cameron vs Julia Hart and Athena
Both teams are women who don’t get along and they position this as a match for the women facing each other in the Owen Hart tournament.
Athena and Money start off by shoving each other, and then Mone tags in Harley. Harley and Athena lock up and Harley gets a drop toe hold and they trade front face locks. Athena gets an arm drag and then tags in Hart. Hart yanks the arm, pulling Harley to the mat for a two count. They fight in the corner and Harley gets an insigiri for a one count. Harley grabs Hart’s arm and tags in Mone.
Hart gets a rollup for two after escaping a pickup. Hart gets a second two count and Money slams her to the mat. Mone ties Hart in the tree of woe. Hart bridges up as Money charges, making Mone slam into the turnbuckle. Hart gets a rollup for two and then locks on an octopus hold. Harley pulls out Mini Mone and tosses it into the ring. Mone gets a lung blower for two as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Hart has been kept in the ring, since Harley is really the only babyface in the match. Hart is able to get a boot up when Harley charges into the corner and dives for the hot tag. Athena runs wild, and when she picks up Harley for a fireman’s carry, Mone leaps at her and Athena grabs her as well for a double slam. Mone is tossed to the floor and Athena dives onto her. Harley gets a DDT on Athena on the floor, and Hart gets a crossbody from the top onto everyone on the floor.
Athena and Harley crawl into the ring and Harley lays in blows, but then runs into a power slam from Athena, who then picks Harley up, tags in hart and slams Harley again. Hart misses a moonsault from the top and Mone gets a backstabber on Hart. Athena gets a power slam on Mone, and then Harley hits a swinging neck breaker and everyone is down.
Hart and Harley get to their feet, throwing hands. Harley gets Eat De Feet and follows with a back slam. Hart works out of Harley’s Finishing Move and Hart tries to reverse. Hart is able to get her up and Hart reverses it into the octopus. Athena guards the ring as Harley has to tap out.
Winners: Julia Hart and Athena
