I get that Tony Khan wants All-In to be AEW'S Wrestlemania, but now he is literally earning the moniker Temu Wrestlemania week. Adding in 2 main roster weekly shows, a developmental brand PPV and a wrestling convention while ticket sales for All-In Texas are currently trending to 31% of seating capacity and 27% of last year's attendance. Do you feel Tony is reading the market well? Or is his ego getting in the way of good business?
I think AEW exists for Tony to book and promote pro wrestling and that is his top priority. There have been so many warning signs with economic indicators that he has ignored that it’s pretty clear to me that he wants AEW to be what he wants it to be, first and foremost. Everything else is secondary.
Say you create a new wrestling company, who would you hire to be your head booker out of these people - Eric Bischoff, Jim Ross, or Jim Cornette?
Cornette. He is the only one of the three that is a booker.
So, I guess AEW is OK with male on female violence, since Mox dropped Willow with a DDT last night on Dynamite. Is this a case of being completely tone deaf, or are they so desperate for heat on the Death Riders that this what they'll do to get it? So fans would chant asshole at Mox for a few seconds?
I am not the person to ask about the things that Mox does and Tony Khan allows him to do. AEW is product geared to people that are a lot different than I am. I never want to see a male hit a female, but some fans do I guess.
How did you feel about Penta taking a pinfall loss on Monday's RAW? Too soon?
I am OK with it. He came in with a big push and if he is not headed right to the main event, he had to lose sooner or later.
With most of the sentiment being that the current story line between Cena and Cody has made zero sense, and the involvement (or lack of) The Rock... What are the chances we see the "double swerve" and the Rock and Cody are actually in cahoots and Cena gets screwed at Mania? I realize this scenario would be just as bad as the current one, just spitballing as we've heard Triple H and The Rock say they play the long game and things aren't always as they seem.
I can’t put odds on it but I can say that I hope like hell it doesn’t happen. It would make even less sense. Cena can’t take back all of the things that he said so it would just mean that all three guys are tools and you would kill Cody.
