I’m not normally one to submit a fantasy booking question but everyone is worried about John Cena beating Cody for the belt. What if people are overthinking it? Last year, people made a big deal about Austin not showing up at the end of the main event. Shortly after WrestleMania, Austin said he wouldn’t mind having some involvement the following year since it’s in Vegas and a lot closer to him. So it’s Cody vs. Cena with Rock in his corner. I’m thinking either prior to WrestleMania, Cody announces Austin in his corner and they move some more tickets. Or Austin shows up to save the day toward the end of the match when the ref is inevitably knocked out and Cena and Rock are double teaming him. Either way, we finally see Rock and Austin face off one last time and Cody retains. They can still take John Cena in whatever direction they want after that. In your opinion, what is the likelihood of that scenario?
As I sit here on March 23, I could definitely see that as a possibility. I really hope that they don’t have Cody lose the Title to John. That would be so Vince McMahon-like.
Do you feel Mercedes Mone has peaked as a wrestler? If so what else can she do with her character though she has creative control.
She is a very talented wrestler and she is still very young so as an in-ring performer, I don’t think she is on the way down at this point. From a character standpoint, I have not enjoyed her run in AEW. I think she would be better served to have someone else book her character.
Is there a timetable for Asuka’s return?
Nothing concrete that I have heard. She is about 10 months out from her injury and generally a knee heals in that time period. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her return post-WrestleMania as it would make more sense that bringing her back now unless they are going to cram her into a match with, say, Lyra Valkyrie.
Could you see the NWA having a deal with WWE like TNA has with the WWE?
Ever is a long time but right now, no. NWA doesn’t bring enough to the table in my opinion. TNA does.
Is there a reason why Jazz, Demolition, Droz are not in the hall of fame?
Demolition had issues stemming from Bill Eadie suing WWE back in the day. The rumor always was that’s what kept them out. As for Droz and Jazz, WWE must not have felt the need to induct them.
