THE TNA SACRIFICE 2025 PPV PREVIEW

By Matt ten-Hoeve on 2025-03-12 22:06:00

This Friday, March 14, 2025, TNA will stream Sacrifice 2025 live from the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas on TNA+. It looks like the arena will be packed for a huge night in TNA. Below are the matches announced so far:

*10-Man Tag Team Cage Match: Joe Hendry, Matt Hardy, Elijah, Leon Slater, and Nic Nemeth vs. The System and The Colons

*TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich vs. NXT’s Cora Jade

*Ladder Match: TNA X-Division Champion Moose vs. Jeff Hardy

*Mustafa Ali vs. Mike Santana

*Tessa Blanchard vs. Lei Ying Lee

*The Rascalz and Ace Austin vs. NXT’s Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe

*Street Fight: Sami Callihan vs. Mance Warner

Let's talk about the matches…

Street Fight: Sami Callihan vs. Mance Warner

While the Number 23 reveal didn’t get a major reaction two months ago, both men have worked hard to make this feud intense. With this being a Street Fight, both Mance Warner and Sami Callihan will be in their violent element. I don’t expect this match to go on for a long time, but I expect it to incorporate as many weapons as allowed. Steph De Lander will most likely play the “X Factor” to give Warner the advantage…and possibly the win.

The Rascalz and Ace Austin vs. NXT’s Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe

The Rascalz have been dealing with their issues with Wes Lee for a while now, so this is a fun way to keep it going. Lee having Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe as his backup provides a ground threat to their high flying opponents. Ace Austin linking up with The Rascalz is a lot of fun, both stylistically and due to their history. They were able to work well together on iMPACT!, but can they keep it together when facing a foe that they have an emotional history with? I’m leaning towards The Rascalz and Ace Austin overcoming any past issues to put their issues with Wes Lee to bed.

Tessa Blanchard vs. Lei Ying Lee

All due respect to Lei Ying Lee, but it’s hard to imagine her winning this match. Tessa Blanchard is scorching her own path towards a showdown with Masha Slamovich and (if Slamovich retains her title at Sacrifice) the TNA Knockouts World Championship. Is there a chance for some shenanigans leading to a Blanchard loss? Sure. I could see a possible distraction…or maybe even Blanchard doing something that causes Santino Marella to stack the deck against her. Honestly, though, I just see Tessa Blanchard winning to continue having her look strong so that she can be ready for Masha Slamovich.

Mustafa Ali vs. Mike Santana

Alright, here’s my honest take - I am a huge fan of Mike Santana. I am also a huge fan of Mustafa Ali. I am very excited to watch this match on Friday. However, I am not enjoying this storyline. I have never enjoyed storylines that focus on one of the wrestler’s sobriety. I don’t mind if it’s mentioned in a promo to showcase perseverance and help an underdog story. I just don’t like how far they have gone with Ali trying to prove that Santana is not sober. With that said and out of the way, I expect this match to be awesome. Both men are so good in the ring and they have found a sweet spot with their personalities. It’s tough to pick a winner here, but I think Mike Santana needs the win more to continue his push towards the TNA World Title. I really want him to look as strong as possible so that he can challenge for the title at Slammiversary in his almost hometown.

Ladder Match: TNA X-Division Champion Moose vs. Jeff Hardy

Moose has been taking on all challengers and decided to call out his own for this match. Jeff Hardy has been able to pin Moose a few times in multi-man matches and, well…Moose has had enough. He’ll have to be careful, though, as he’ll be in Hardy’s element with this being a Ladder Match. So far, Moose has had a relatively easy time holding onto the X-Division Title. His opponents have had moments of shine, but Moose has been dominant. I expect more of the same here, just with Jeff Hardy getting closer than those who have tried to take down Moose so far. Moose, I think, will be too determined to prove that he is a worthy champion after his loss to Oba Femi on Tuesday at NXT.

TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich vs. NXT’s Cora Jade

The TNA/NXT relationship has been hot lately and this matchup has helped that. This feud had a nice, natural build to it that has been rooted in Cora Jade’s desire to be the first NXT wrestler to hold a TNA title. Masha Slamovich has done an excellent job of bringing intensity to the feud and I know she’s going to defend the belt with all her might. What is interesting about all of this is the inclusion, or maybe interruption, of Tessa Blanchard. Blanchard has made it clear that she wants Slamovich and the title. Her involvement has slightly overshadowed some moments between Slamovich and Jade. It makes me wonder if Blanchard will get involved in this match, as well. Either way, with Blanchard lurking, it could allow Jade to get a sneaky win or it could just mean that Slamovich disposes of Jade and moves on to Blanchard. I’m leaning towards Slamovich retaining and then taking on Blanchard next.

10-Man Tag Team Cage Match: Joe Hendry, Matt Hardy, Elijah, Leon Slater, and Nic Nemeth vs. The System and The Colons

There is a lot going on in this match in a good way. The System is already annoying as a team (again - in a good way), so adding The Colons makes their numbers even stronger and worrisome. I expect The System and The Colons to be on the same page here, but will they be able to overpower some of the biggest good guys in the company? Joe Hendry has been on fire over the last year. Matt Hardy has been consistently strong in the tag team division with his brother, but Jeff is not in this match. Elijah is a new addition, but has already dedicated his allegiance to working with Hendry. Leon Slater is an up-and-comer who has been strongly featured. Lastly, Nic Nemeth is returning from his suspension and will be looking to prove that is still worthy of a top spot in the company. Here’s the problem, though…Hendry’s team is strong, but can they work together? I am expecting there to be some miscommunication problems, especially between Hendry and Nic Nemeth (possibly due to an appearance by Ryan Nemeth), leading to The System and The Colons getting the victory. I see more storylines coming out of a Team Hendry loss here.

It’s nice to see a TNA+ exclusive show again after them taking the month off in February. I am very excited to see and hear the crowd, as it looks like they are poised to be a hot one. They are getting a pretty solid show that I am looking forward to. There will be a little bit of everything - high action matches, violence, title matches, and stipulation matches. This show is definitely looking like it’s worth watching and I am excited to provide live coverage of it on Friday!
