EDDIE AND ALISHA EDWARDS DISCUSS SIGNING NEW TNA DEALS, THE PROMOTION'S RECENT RESURGENCE, THE FUTURE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2025-03-04 12:00:00

TNA Wrestling has officially secured the futures of two of its most dedicated stars, Eddie and Alisha Edwards, as they have signed new deals to remain with the company for the foreseeable future, PWInsider.com broke earlier today.

In sitting down with PWInsider.com, Eddie and Alisha Edwards discussed their renewed commitment to TNA and their excitement for the company's growing momentum.

This morning, Eddie made it clear that staying with TNA was never in doubt, commenting, “I like that it's also, I don't think it's very surprising, I think we've made it known over the years that this is our home, TNA is our home, and we hope to keep it that way, hopefully, this is the news going forward. I think the bigger news would be if we didn’t resign. So hopefully that day won’t come. And we’re happy to say that we are part of TNA going forward.”

Both Eddie and Alisha have witnessed TNA’s struggles and resurgence. Eddie, in particular, has been part of the company during its toughest times and is now seeing it regain prominence.

“We've both been there through some rough times and, as well as the pandemic and, COVID and, no crowds and we've built it up to this. It's been very important to all of us, everyone that's been involved to build this company back to where we know it belongs and even higher than it's ever been.”

Alisha echoed his sentiments, emphasizing how their commitment to TNA feels even more rewarding now that the company is growing in popularity and moving into larger venues.

“It's an exciting time. So to really put ourselves in the middle of it, that was the goal, and then here we are.”

When asked about the dynamics of working and traveling together, Alisha shared how they balance their professional and personal lives:

“The best part about it is that we're really professional as in when we get back home we turn it off a little bit. And I think we're really hard workers and we turn it full boss when we're on the road. But I think we're pretty good at being able to turn it off.”

Eddie chimed in, laughing, "It is good sometimes if I had my own hotel room, but that would be the only downfall—her crashing my hotel room!"

Eddie then emphasized how meaningful it is to share these experiences, noting, "Even when we’re at work, we have our own things that we do. But when we do get to do things together, it makes it that much more special. At this point in my career, in our careers, we want to be able to sit back and enjoy the moment. The stuff with The System, being able to do everything with my best friends and my wife—it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and it makes it that much more special."

Eddie also noted that despite traveling together, they have their own schedules and routines:

“Even when we're at work, we have our own things that we do. We don't always travel to the building together. She's a female, she's going to do makeup and show up a little bit earlier. So I ride a little later, me, Myers and Moose, but then we get to the building, you get to do everything together and it makes it that much more special.”

Alisha specifically has found her footing and confidence as a performer over the last several years.  She attributed her evolution to opportunities during the pandemic and a newfound comfort in portraying a heel character.

“I think COVID helped me a little bit. Like he said, there were no crowds and they literally needed everyone on deck.  I think Swinger’s Palace and Wrestle House actually showed that I have a little bit of a character. And I think what was really the switch was when I started being a heel and maybe playing the bad girl is more of a natural feel for me.”

Eddie recalled a specific moment that proved Alisha’s growth:

“It was a moment during the pandemic and it was me and EY doing a thing and I was there… There was a promo in-ring. Just you and EY face to face and I remember you were a little bit nervous going into it, but you went out there and you could see all the emotion… you came back and it was like wow. That was awesome.”

With TNA’s recent crossover with WWE’s NXT, the locker room has felt a fresh energy. Eddie highlighted the positive impact of this relationship:

"When the announcement came out, there was a lot of positivity around it. I think everybody in TNA is waiting for that moment to show what we can do. This relationship gives us a bigger platform, and we all realize that."

He specifically praised Moose’s recent work:

"A pat on the back to Moose for going over to NXT and having a killer match. It’s great exposure. It’s cool to be in the ring when something like Oba Femi showing up on Impact happens—you don’t know who’s going to show up. That unpredictability is amazing."

Alisha added, I think it brings a lot more excitement and buildup of the whole entire roster knowing that we're leveling up and we're going to be able to show the world what we can do.”

TNA has ambitious plans for major events, including Sacrifice in El Paso, the Galen Center in Los Angeles, and the UBS Arena in New York—venues that demonstrate the company’s push to continue its recent upward trajectory. Eddie and Alisha see this as both a challenge and an opportunity.

Alisha confidently stated, “I think we’re going to sell out everything… I think this is the year that we get that TV deal. I’m probably just manifesting at this point, but it is going to happen.”

Eddie reinforced the locker room’s mindset, cpmmenting, “Pressure is a privilege and that's where we're at right now. We've been able to sell out these buildings and move up to these bigger venues because we've succeeded under that pressure.”

As for their personal goals? They have their sights set high.

“Are we going to be world champs? Are we going to be world champs together? I think that would be great… By the end of 2025, Eddie and Lish world champs.”

Eddie added that their current faction, The System, still has a lot more to accomplish, noting, “We want to ride this system thing as long as we can. We still feel that we're just the beginning, but we have just scratched the surface on what we can do.”

As TNA continues to grow in stature, these two veterans will remain at the heart of its evolution.

“We need to make TNA something that you can't miss. I feel like we're right there at that moment,” Eddie stated.

With new contracts in hand, Eddie and Alisha Edwards are set to continue making their mark in TNA Wrestling—both as a dominant duo on camera and as leaders in the locker room behind the scenes.
