It is Saturday and AEW Collision was recorded after Dynamite Wednesday at Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, AZ. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross and Excalibur.
We start the show with Toni Storm being attacked by Mariah May in the back. May pulls Storm out to the stage and nails Storm with a headbutt. May then hits a Storm Zero. She then yelled to hit Storm’s spotlight and holds her in it when she says, ” Look what you made me do! You never knew how to write an ending, so I will write one for you in your own blood. We’ll be stars together and at Revolution, we’ll have a Hollywood ending.”
Kazuchika Okada is in the back and says he put the dog down like a bitch and anyone who steps up, will be put down as well.
Hologram vs The Beast Mortos
Mortos runs through Hologram and then tosses him across the ring. Hologram dodges the next charge and avoids attacks in the corner and gets an insigiri followed by a cross body and a spinning tejaris. Hologram drop-kicks Mortos on the floor and then hits a running hurricanrana. Mortos is rolled into the ring and Hologram goes to the top and misses. Mortos comes off the ropes with an arm drag. Mortos gets a pounce off the ropes. Mortos then hits a tornado dive through the ropes as we go to picture in picture,’
When we return to full screen, Mortos and Hologram are fighting in the corner and Mortos hits a gorilla press slam from the top for two. They go back to the top and Hologram Gets a spinning tejaris from the top and then a kick, knocking Mortos to the floor when Hologram dives onto him. Mortos is rolled into the ring and Hologram misses a double stomp. They fight through the ropes to the stage where Mortos gets a Samoan Drop.
Hologram is tossed into the ring for two. Hologram is tossed back to the stage. Hologram is unable to get a gorilla press and Hologram gets a sunset flip bomb. They return to the ring and Hologram gets a leaping crucifix bomb for two. Mortos gets another Samoan drop for two. Mortos get a backbreaker. Hologram whips Mortos into the ropes for a Spanish Fly. Hologram gets a running clothesline.
They go to the top and Hologram gets a hurricanrana from the top and follows with a pull through for the pin and the win.
Winner: Hologram
Mortos tries for a post match attack, but Komander shows and they are able t stop Mortos with kicks.
We get a hype video for Speedball Mike Bailey, who is coming into AEW soon.
Lexi Nair is in the ring to talk to Harley Cameron. Harley tells us a story about a girl who loved to sing, dance, puppets, but she loved wrestling the most. That girl said to her Grandma “One day I will become a wrestler and make overone proud.” She says that little girl was her next door neighbor, Suzette Dickenson. She doesnt’ know what happened to her, but she took that dream and ran with it.
Harley says she will not stop until everyone knows what it feels like to feel the wrath!
Gabe Kidd vs The Butcher
Gabe just lays in blows at the bell and works Butcher over in the corner. When Gabe gives Butcher a shoulder tackle, Butcher calls for him to hit harder. Gabe then hits a suplex followed by blows. Butcher fires back and whips Gabe to the floor where they throw hands. Gabe hits Butcher with a suplex and follows with a running clothesline. Gabe returns to the ring and sits, waiting for Butcher.
Butcher gets back in the ring at 8, and Gabe stomps Butcher down as he tries to enter the ring. Butcher is able to get up and lay in chops. They run the ropes and Gabe gets a big lariat, and a pile driver for the pin and the win.
Winner: Gabe Kidd
Gabe lays in blows after the win and Don Callis, in the back, likes what he sees. Lexi then meets with Dan Callis and Kyle Fletcher. She asked about the challenge for a steel cage match from Will Ospreay. CallIs says it is not in his best interest to get in a steel cage with Fletcher. Fletcher says all Ospreay has done is take from him for years, but it’s over and he accepts the match at Revolution.
Julia Hart vs Queen Aminata
Hart takes her time before locking up. They move to side headlocks and Aminata rubs her behind on Hart before they go back to arm bars. Aminata gets a side headlock takedown and Hart rolls through for a two count. They lock up again, and Hart rolls through for a two count. Aminata gets a snap mare and a pair of kicks on Hart.
Aminata gets a running forearm in the corner and keeps up with chops. Hart reverses and does the same. Hart gets a running clothesline in the corner and then a running back elbow and a mount where she slams Aminata’s head on the mat. Hart covers for two as we go to picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Aminata gets a backbreaker and lays in kicks. Aminata gets three snap suplexes. She then hits a fisherman’s suplex and hits a hip attack in the corner for two. She covers again for two and then a high stack for two. Hart gets a rollup for two and a thrust kick. Hart gets a running clothesline for two. Hart stomps down Aminata and then moonsaults into Aminata’s feet. Aminata hits a German suplex. Hart just keeps getting up and fights out of a suplex and locks on the flying octopus hold and Aminata has to tap out.
Winner: Julia Hart
Brian Cage and Lance Archer vs Two Guys They Carried Out From The Back
Yeah, it’s a squash.
Winners: Brian Cage and Lance Archer
After the match, they call out the Hurt Syndicate. We then get the Hurt Syndicate’s music and they come to the stage, suited up. MVP says he does see any championship gold on their waists, so who the hell are they to call out the champions?
Security and referees come out to make sure they don’t mix it up. MVP says he knows what they did, beating up two locals hoping to impress people. MVP says they dictate the time and place. MVP says if they beat up a REAL tag team, they can talk business.
We then get a hype from Action Andretti and Lio Rush.
Then there is a short video where Kris Statlander tells Thunder Rosa that next time they are attacked, they just throw hands. Probably a better plan than running the ring where the heels don’t know they are supposed to back off, leaving Rosa to look goofy.
Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Pac, and Wheeler Yuta) AEW Trios Champions vs Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker
Parker and Yuta start and Parker gets a drop-kick and a quick suplex for two. Parker is then backed into the Death Rider’s corner where Claudio tags in and cuts off his attack with a pop-up uppercut for two, broken up by Garcia. Claudio gets a scoop slam and a double stomp for two, again saved by Garcia. As the Death Riders toss Garcia, Parker gets a quick rollup for two
Pac is tagged in and Pac lays in stomps and a hammer throw to the corners. Pac chokes Parker on the middle rope and Yuta gets a running kick when Pac is pulled off by the ref. Yuta then tags in and Parker is able to escape the corner and tags in Menard who cleans house. Menard gets a cutter on Pac for two. This sets off the tag team siren and all six men are fighting in the ring for a multi man suplex.
Garcia's team gets ten in the corners on the Death Riders. The Death Riders are tossed from the ring as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Menard has been the babyface in peril. Menard is finally able to get a power bomb on Pac and Garcia gets the hot tag and runs wild. Garcia is able to give everyone a back suplex, including Claudio after a series of attacks and covers Yuta for two. Garcia gets a Dragon Tamer on Yuta. Pac tries to break it up with a kick and Garcia just screams at him. Parker knocks Pac to the floor and dives. Claudio finally breaks it up. Menard hits Claudio with a DDT and they roll out of the ring.
Yuta and Garcia fight as they get to their feet. Yuta bites Garcia and tags in Claudio who drops Garcia for two and then hits the giant swing with Yuta’s drop-kick for two, broken up by Parker. Menard and Parker are grabbed and we’re back to Pac and Garcia. Pac goes for the Black Arrow and the fighting on the outside interrupts him. Parker tags in and suplexes Pac front he top for two and Yuta and Menard plows into them.
We then get each person taking out the last person to get a big move. Pac locks the Brutalizer on Parker as Parker has to tap out.
Winners and still Trios Champions: The Death Riders
The post patch beat down is stopped by a run in by the Undisputed Kingdom and the Death Riders take off. Garcia and Adam Cole are about to shake hands, but Pac tries to interrupt, but is taken out by the High Low from Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong.
Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir and Cope’s music hits. Cope heads to the ring with chairs and the Death Riders bail. Pac is left in the ring and Cope hits him with a Con-Chair-To.
Lexi is with the Vendetta, Taya Valkyrie and Deonna Purrazzo have decided that Harley Cameron is in their sights.
Max Caster mouths off about his open challenge and asks who can survive the best wrestler alive.
Max Caster vs Brody King
King shakes Caster’s hand, as Caster asked, and then squeezes it hand and then chops him to the mat. Max gets a low drop-kick and tries for a headlock, but King is able to reverse it into a head scissors. Max tries to flip out of it and King releases with a big slap to Caster’s chest. King gets a charge in the corner and then a cannonball in the corner for the pin and the win.
Winner: Brody King
JR is great in his backhanded insults on commentary.
Lexi is with the Outrunners and they are looking to top their win over the Learning Tree at Ring of Honor and the Hurt Syndicate walks in. They ask what happens if they beat the Murder Machines next week. MVP says the good news is if they win, they get a tag team title match against the Hurt Syndicate. The bad news is that if they win, they get a tag team title shot at the Hurt Syndicate.
Chris Jericho (Ring of Honor World Champion) vs Bandido
Jericho and Bandido see which one gets bigger cheers from the crowd. Jericho does not win. Bandido and Jericho shake hands and Bandido pulls Jericho in. Jericho then does the same thing and gets a thumb to the eye.
They run the ropes and each gets a takedown. Bandido shoves Jericho through the ropes to the floor and then gets a pair of dives onto Jericho. Bandido rolls Jericho into the ring and leaps off the top rope into a codebreaker from Jericho and Jericho covers for two. Jericho whips Bandido to the corner and lays in clotheslines. Bandido is put on top and Jericho joins him there and gets ten in the corner. Jericho then gets a hurricanrana and pauses for the crowd reaction.
They move to fighting on the apron and Bandido gets a hurricanrana to the floor as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, a chop fest is happening in the middle of the ring. Jericho is able to bring Bandido to his knees, Bandido gets to his feet and fires back up. Jericho ends it with a rake of the eyes and Bandido gets a tornado from the top and follows with a front slam for two. Jericho is able to get an attitude adjustment for two. Bandido gets a series of kicks, but Jericho gets one in. They trade blows and both drop to the mat.
They get to their knees, back to back and slowly get to their feet and get the ten pace duel and Bandido tries for a GTS, but Jericho avoids it and locks on the Walls of Jericho. Bandido crawls to the rope for the break. Jericho yells that Bandido tapped out and runs at Bandido who hits a gorilla slam and frog splash for two.
Jericho gets a drop-kick and Bandido is able to chase Jericho as he goes to the top for a sunset flip from the corner for two. Jericho avoids a drop-kick and hits a Lionsault for two. Bandido gets a small package for two. Jericho gets the High Spot, a head scissors takedown for two. Jericho goes to the top and Bandido kicks him there. They fight on the top and Bandido gets a scoop slam from the top for two.
Bandido goes for the 21 Plex, but Jericho drops down for the surprise rollup for the pin and the win.
