Joe Rogan gives blunt answer on Conor McGregor’s UFC comeback; Jarred Brooks wants “first round” finish at ONE 171

By Kendall Jenkins on 2025-02-22 06:32:00

Unbeaten UFC double-champion Conor McGregor hasn't fought in the Octagon in almost four years and is still unbeaten. Due to current legal processes and obligations unrelated to MMA, it’s not expected for him to play in the promotion anytime soon.

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan shares the same concerns, he said last Saturday while watching UFC 312 during a stream.

"Well, he knows, too, [that the ship has sailed]," Rogan said during a conversation with ex-UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub. "I don't know if Conor is ever gonna fight again."

Vaguely, Rogan shared a few details about McGregor's immediate future. MMA fans can’t expect the top fighter to go into fights anytime soon, even after choosing and checking the top site options to bet on like the Betnow review.

"I don't know the real details of [the civil assault case]. I know his version of it, and her version of it, and what played out in the court," Rogan said about Conor’s situation with Nikita Han.

"The reality is that guy's partying, and he's partying real hard, and he talked about it in the court case," Rogan said. "He's talking about cocaine."

Dana White still silent on McGregor

The fact that UFC CEO Dana White has said nothing about the once-adored Irish MMA superstar raises the prospect that his career is nearing a breaking point. There are high speculations that his official retirement will also be announced soon.

Jarred Brooks aiming for “first round” finish of Joshua Pacio at ONE 171

“The Monkey God” Jarred Brooks plans to end his three-year rivalry with Filipino fighter Joshua Pacio and he wants to finish it as soon as feasible.

“I want to get it done, first round. I’m gonna get it. No matter where the fight takes me, I’m going to evolve and I’m going to erupt through Joshua Pacio’s power, spirit, and his physicality,” Brooks said. “That’s your job as a fighter, and I want to put on a show for the fans as well.”

Pacio and Brooks’ third match-up takes place on February 20, at ONE 171: Qatar. This fight is a highly-awaited one since both fighters have won one match each. During ONE 164 last December 2022, Brooks won over Pacio after five rounds.

In their second match-up at ONE 166, Pacio won but it’s due to Brooks’ disqualification after dropping Pacio on his head unintentionally.

ONE Interim Strawweight MMA World Champion Jarred Brooks wants to solidify his dominance over the rivalry. After the unfortunate disqualification, Brooks is eager to show fans a good outcome in this trilogy. As early as now, fans and punters alike can check comprehensive reviews, like the Betnow review, on where they can cheer and bet for their favourite fighter in this face-off.

“The last time that we were all in Qatar, a lot of crazy stuff happened. I think that we are definitely going to relinquish that kind of energy back into the Qatari fans and to the people that were watching the card last year,” Brooks said.

“I think that you should be excited for my fight because I’m the best in the world at my weight class.”
