Earlier this afternoon, PWInsider.com reported that a new executive was brought on board by TNA to work in an Executive Producer role. We have since learned that the new exec is George Veras. He has worked with ABC Sports, NBC, CBS' NFL Today series, The Cleveland Browns and The Football Hall of Fame, among other entities over his long broadcast career. The belief is Veras will be putting together his own team, which is why there were departures today, including Josh Mathews, who worked in the truck during events as a Producer.
PWInsider.com has also been told that Mark Brown, who was a Director with Ring of Honor when it was owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group and has worked with New Japan Pro Wrestling on their events in the United States in the past, is coming in as a Director for TNA. We are told he had recently been around for several shows recently.
While Anthony Cicione has exited his role with TNA, we are told he is remaining with Anthem. He was in his role as TNA President for a year.
There does not appear to be any changes to the creative side of the company, for those who have asked.
PWInsider.com has reached out to TNA for comment.
