As everyone now knows, Ricky Starks appeared on last night's WWE NXT, just 24 hours after he was granted his AEW release.
Starks was not identified by name during his appearance, but whether that was a way to just create more interest in his appearance or a sign he's getting a new WWE ring name remains to be seen.
Starks was well known by WWE management and has been backstage at lots of events with Cody Rhodes, who he is close with, in recent years, including Cody's WWE return.
Starks was not at the WWE Performance Center until just as they were preparing to go live last night. Obviously, it was a last second call to get him there given he wasn't even free contractually 24 hours ago.
All signs are that he'll be at Vengeance Day this Saturday as Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling announced the following:
"Due to circumstances beyond our control, Ricky Starks will not be in attendance on Saturday, February 15th at the Tannery Row Ale House. However, you can still expect the same incredible evening of Georgia’s premier star studded, action packed, family friendly, independent professional wrestling that TCW Live has to offer! We will see you at the matches!"
