I loved the final segment on the go home edition of Raw this week. It felt real. Almost too real. Do you think something was legitimately off with Cody in the initial moments of the segment? It most likely was great acting by Punk and Rhodes, but the initial silence, Cody's pattern of speech, the long pause Punk gave Rhodes when Cody asked him if he was his friend...it felt so intimate compared to the "normal" interactions between wrestlers on WWE programming. Just wanted your thoughts.
I just saw it as two fantastic pros doing great work. If there are two guys that will make you believe what you are watching it’s Cody and Punk.
When RAW was on broadcast cable the commercials in the middle of the match felt necessary - no way to avoid it. Now that we’re in the Netflix era, what’s the logic behind commercials mid match? this they now can absolutely control - it feels to me like they’re so comfortable in the cable tv format they can reinvent the pacing.
I think it’s just the way that they do things and I get it. Most fans care more about the promo segments and character building so they can’t cut off those segments for commercials. Plus, if they wait until the end of the matches and establish a pattern of a three to five minute commercial block, viewers will catch on and skip the commercials. Advertisers won’t like that.
Did Braun Strowman anger Triple H or someone else on the creative team? IMO, his character was annihilated on Saturday Night's Main Event. While I understand that Jacob Fatu is "The Samoan Werewolf," there's losing a match, and there's being buried. IMO, Strowman was buried, and it will be hard to take him as a credible threat to a championship going forward. Your thoughts?
I think that we have to wait and see what happens and not make a decision on something until we see where it goes. Yes, Jasob laid Braun to waste. But then Braun came back. Now, they will probably beat the snot out of each other on Friday. Under HHH we have to wait and let things play out.
Why are the Death Riders teaming with the Learning Tree in a 12 man tag match on Collision? Aren’t the Death Riders suppose to hate everything about AEW so why do they have partners? Am I suppose to forget past history between Jericho and Moxley too? Doesn’t it also mean Hobbs is losing on Dynamite already? Has Tony Khan lost his mind this match makes zero sense.
Your question sums up everything wrong with Tony Khan’s booking in one question! Tony is a really bad booker.
Stephanie McMahon appeared on the Pat McAfee show today. She was asked about the future of WWE and there being more global shows. She essentially said international is a huge focus and said what if there were NXT's all over the world, like territories leveled up, where they compete among themselves as their own competition. As we all know, HHH had been pitching this idea for like a decade now. It was growing with the success of NXT UK and rumors of a Japan expansion, then the pandemic hit, Triple H's health issues, Vince changing developmental, etc. Then Triple H took over, but the TKO merger happened and we never heard about NXT Europe again. While she doesn't work there in an official capacity, do you think Stephanie bringing this up publicly hints that the global localization plans aren't iced under TKO after all and something could be brewing?
If they are planning Global NXTs I haven’t heard of it. My guess is that they will keep reaching out to companies and work with them. It’s much more cost effective and serves the same purpose.
