First, I want to preface that I’m good with John Cena declaring himself for the Elimination Chamber. However, I can understand some people feeling off about it. Given that the winner of the Royal Rumble gets a title shot at WrestleMania, what do you think of moving forward, the runner-up at the Royal Rumble automatically gets a slot into the Elimination Chamber? The runner-up usually is of star value, and would be there anyway, but would give more of a reason for something like the Cena aspect happening.
I like that idea. It could add a lot of drama when the match gets down to three as well.
Knowing that wrestling is a worked sport, what impact (if any) will Trump's executive order banning transgender athletes from competing in sports have on wrestlers such as Nyla Rose or Gisele Shaw, and the companies they work for?
It should have no effect since it’s not legitimate competition. As you said, it’s a work. Plus in TNA’s case, they are Canadian company so they can ignore Trump.
Will WWE now have to think twice about hiring a transgender wrestler?
No, for the reason stated above.
Are we going to see only HHH in The Hall Of Fame or there will be a few inductees?
Nothing has been announced yet. I would expect other inductees however.
Netflix question. I saw that RR did 2,100,000 views for Netflix and s in their top ten. Considering the cost, is that good? Not good? I’m still trying to sort out how this all works in the streaming world. Same with AEW and Max… have these streaming companies given any indication in what numbers they are expecting or hoping for? My take is that 2 million for RR seems low, but I’m ignorant about these things and would appreciate your thoughts.
First I will say that I expected higher numbers for both Raw and the PLEs. I am surprised that with over 300,000,000 Netflix subscribers that WWE can’t regularly do 5,000,000 for Raw. With that said, without knowing what Netflix’s expectations are, it’s hard to say how they feel. Next year, the WWE Network deal ends on Peacock. If Netflix goes after it, it would indicate that they are happy with their relationship. If they don’t go after it, that doesn’t mean they aren’t happy. But if they opt out after five years, which they can do, that will tell the story. If they don’t, it will tell the story as well.
