Given the strength of the women’s division in WWE, didn’t Mercedes Mone make the right decision going to AEW?
I think she absolutely did. She is being paid more money than WWE would have paid her plus she has claimed she controls her creative. I think it’s safe to say that she would not be getting the mega push in WWE that she is getting in AEW.
Firstly, I'm not against a Jey Uso Rumble win. He's over like rover and the potential of Mania ending with the entire venue yeeting is a great visual. But..... why oh why was he booked ONE WEEK prior to lose a world title match on Saturday mights main event? This is Vince level 50 50 booking and literally makes no sense. Was Jey a last minute decision to win the rumble as it doesn't make much sense to have him lose clean to the champion a week prior?
I disagree. To me, the booking is about a journey, of Jey going from a tag guy to a legitimate main-eventer. Cody lost to Roman as part of his journey and I see this as part of Jey’s. After losing last week, Gunther had no reason to give Jey another shot. Now? He doesn’t have a choice. Plus, it was a very close match that Jey lost so I have no issue with it.
HBK.....is there a match with KO on horizon? KO has been public in wanting to work HBK, he's shown he can work safely with Austin, Goldberg etc.... the ending of the contract signing with HBK giving him some sweet chin music. If you're a betting man do we get HBK vs KO at Wrestlemania Vegas?
I would bet against it because I don’t want to see it, and it’s not necessary. WWE is so loaded with talent that they don’t need to do the Vince trope of using the wayback machine to compensate for bad booking. Shawn is almost 60 years old and he said after the match he had in Saudi Arabia that he probably should have stayed retired. I agree with him there.
How much longer will it take Brent Musberger to call out Michael Cole for Gimmick Infringement since he is now opening everything "You are looking LIVE"?
Since he hasn’t done it yet I am guessing he won’t do it any time soon.
Just finished watching the Rumble, pretty good show. Lots of continuing stories & seeds planted. One thing stood out to me on commentary was Wade & Cole talking about Cody; how his body was worn down and his brutal schedule. For me, this may have the start of sowing the seeds for a loss at WM. I know there’s lots of time, but it sounded like a very deliberate comment to me. Time will tell, as always.
It could be, or it could be a follow up to Cody’s great promo from last week’s Raw where he talked about Punk hunting him now. The beauty of the current booking is that they could be taking us down that road…..or it could be a red herring. That is great booking!
