What was the oddest place you visited because of wrestling?
I've written about going to the old Pete McKay IPWA school for shows that were housed in the basement of a housing project on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, so I won't repeat that. I guess then it would be the McDonalds in Waukesha, Wisconsin where the Ken Patera incident happened in April 1984. I was driving through the State en route to Minneapolis and realized the route took me right through Waukesha. One of the mysteries that I always wondered is that Patera was accused of throwing a "boulder" through a window and I wondered how there would be a random boulder there. Well, when I drove around, there were a big collection of larger rocks that surrounded a flagpole for the U.S. flag in front of the McDonalds. That solved that boulder mystery. I drove around it and figured out where the old hotel would have been that Patera and Mr. Saito stayed, where they were later arrested. So yeah, I guess that would land on oddest.
Is Megan Bayne signed to AEW?
Yes. She was actually under contract for a long time before her official debut.
I know you are a big Sabu fan and always have been. Will you attend his retirement match?
In a perfect world, yes. I'd like to see it myself in person. However, that is also Wrestlemania weekend, so I don't know what my schedule will be for Vegas, if I am even there, as a family commitment may prevent me from getting to Vegas early enough for anything for Mania itself. We will see. If I am not there in person, I can all but guarantee the match will be streaming live on Triller+ on my phone no matter where in the world I may be. Plus, let's be honest, would it really be his last match????
It's wonderful to see TNA score a big TV deal in Canada with Sportsnet and Rogers Communications. Does this give a good sign that hopefully they can be on a larger network in the United States?
That is the hope internally. We will see if they can do it.
Is there anything you use to turn off the brain since this has to be a 24/7 job in a lot of ways?
Yes, episodes of Red Dwarf. I hope they finally get it together and make new ones. No one's getting any younger, including me.
