Shouldn't Samoa Joe return to AEW and want to go right after Chris Jericho for what he did?
Of course, but Kenny Omega should have wanted to go after The Young Bucks for what they did. Bryan Danielson should have wanted to go after Mox for what he did. Tony Khan is an awful booker.
After seeing how quickly WWE worked things out with Corey Graves, which was shockingly quickly, it made me wonder. What are the most and least organized and professional mainstream top level companies you've seen? It seems to me current WWE is at the top for most.
There really are only two, WWE and AEW. WWE is very organized. AEW is a distant second.
Wrestling Society X could have been so cool. What do you think damaged its potential the most? Too much MTV oversight? The way matches were edited?
I think it was just too niche to connect with the masses.
Why has nobody picked up the Lucha Underground library yet? Could you ever foresee a world where WWE buys it and launches it as a separate brand on Netflix to cater towards the Latin X community?
Again, like X it was a very niche product. Someone would buy the library if they thought that they could monetize it. I don't see a reboot since WWE can already cater to the Latin community under their current programming. Now, if Netflix ordered a show like that from them, that would be different.
After the Penta debut, I read an article where Jim Ross gave his thoughts, I'm not sure if you were able to see his comments, so I will paraphrase. Basically he mentioned he was surprised with the way WWE presented him as a top guy. He said in AEW Penta was just one of many that do that "type of thing" and Penta was just another guy. This kind of surprised me. I guess it just proves again how incompetent AEW truly is at utilizing talent, and how WWE are lightyears ahead. I am reminded of a comment Vince McMahon made to Bret Hart when he left for WCW, he told him that WCW wouldn’t know what to do with a Bret Hart... clearly AEW doesn’t know what to do with superstars. What did you think of the Jim Ross comments?
I agree 100 percent with JR that Penta was just another guy because almost everyone on the roster is just another interchangeable guy. They do tons of spots, don’t sell and don’t get their character over. They come off the same. I didn’t read the story but honestly I can’t see how anyone would be surprised to see WWE book a talent in a competent way. It’s what they do there, and what Tony Khan does not. It could be he had no idea what Penta could do because Khan never had him do it. I can’t say. But I will say this, every talent that I can think of that left AEW and came to WWE/NXT has presented much, much better than they were in AEW so I would be surprised if Penta wasn’t presented better.
