It is Saturday and AEW Collision is live at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross, and Nigel McGuinness.
Since Ol’ JR lives in the area, I’m glad he was called in to the whole show.
We start off with promos from The Patriarchy, Toni Storm, Mariah May and the Returning Samoa Joe, who cuts the best promo of them all.
Samoa Joe vs Nick Wayne w/The Patriarchy
The Patriarchy gets into the ring to surround Joe until Shibata and Hook show up to even things up outside the ring.
They lock up and Nick tries to move Joe, who just stands in the hold ignoring his efforts. Nick tries shoulder tackles off the ropes to no avail. Nick works the crowd with jacking his jaws and such and then gives Joe a mule kick. Joe then batters Nick into the corner. Joe goes for a muscle buster, but Nick rakes the eyes to escape and then gets a dragon screw leg whip. Nick lays in kicks and drags Joe to the corner where he wraps his leg around the ring post. Christian Cage tries it, but Hook points it out to the ref.
Nick then hits a moonsault off the top to Joe on the floor. Joe is rolled into the ring and Nick gets a one count. Nick goes after Joe’s leg with kicks to his hamstrings and Joe kicks him off. Joe then hits a side slam and puts Nick on top; Nick goes for Joe’s eyes, but the ref sees it and makes him stop. Nick gets a rolling code red for two.
Nick goes to follow up and misses a leap from the top and runs into a clothesline. Joe goes for the muscle buster, and as Cage and Kip Sabian are pulled off the apron by Hook and Shibata, Joe hits the move for the pin and the win.
Winner: Samoa Joe
Kazuchika Okada vs Komander
Titles are not on the line in this match.
Okada calls for a handshake but then walks right by Komander. He does it a second time. Komander lays in a series of kicks and when they run the ropes, Okada rakes Komander’s eyes. Okada picks up Komander, and Komander locks in an abdominal stretch while on Okada’s back. Okada gets to the ropes and rolls to the floor. Komander gets a dive onto him and rolls him back in the ring. Komander gets a few strikes and charges at Okada, who drops him with a big boot.
Okada slows the pace and attacks in the corner. He whips Komander to the corner and Komander weaves through the ropes to avoid Okada’s follow up. Komander gets an arm whip and Okada goes to the floor. Komander joins him there and Okada gets a DDT on the floor as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Komander is fighting out of the money clip hold from Okada. Komander tries a hurricanrana and Okada stops it, but Komander is able to hit the move. Koamnder hits a cazadora bulldog and covers for two. Koamnder goes for a top rope springboard, but Okada grabs him for a neckbreaker. Okada gets a big slam and then goes to the top for a flying elbow.
Okada flips the bird and misses a Rainmaker and Komander is able to hit hurricanrana from the top and then a series of big kicks. Komander gets a poisonrana and goes to the top and Okada rolls to the floor. Koamnder then hits a moonsault from the top. Okada is rolled into the ring and Komander goes for a leap front he top., but Okada catches him and hits the Rainmaker for the pin and the win.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada
Okada applauds Komander and helps him up before hitting a double axe handle from behind.
They don’t announce it, but we don’t hear JR, so he has probably stepped away untilt he main event.
We get a video for the upcoming trios match with the return of Angelo Parker later in the show.
We go to the packing lot when Hobbs has met Big Bill and is beating him down with various items of plunder, including a brick. Bill is able to get a big boot when Hobbs goes after him with a garbage can. Hobbs pulls a mesh door off its hinges and tosses it at Bill as security shows up to pull them apart.
Lexi Nair is with Big Boom AJ and Big Justice. Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, and Adam Cole show up for the Boom. We get five more booms.
Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong) vs Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard and Angelo Parker
Shane Taylor Promotions is at ringside and advises the camera that they are not impressed.
Garcia and Cole start up by locking up and trading arm bars. They trade side headlock takedowns. They pause to have words when they are both up. Menard and Strong are tagged in and they trade quick holds and Menard gets a shoulder table off the ropes. Parker is tagged in and gets a knee drop. He drives Strong into his own corner where Kyle is tagged in and they take turns kicking Parker. Menard gets in the ring to help. They drop him with kicks and backdrops Parker onto Menard. They cover Parker for two.
Parker and Kyle are left in the ring and they run the ropes. Parker gets a blind tag from Garcia, and Parker gets a flipping neckbreaker. Kyle tosses Garcia to the floor and he leaps on Menard and takes a clothesline from Garcia. Garcia gets in the face of Shane Taylor Promotions as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Parker is getting ten in the corner on Kyle and then Garcia tags in and does the same. Menard tags in and he and Parker double team Kyle for two. They keep Kyle from tagging out until Kyle hits a double clothesline and everyone is down. Kyle crawls to his corner and Cole cleans house.
Garcia cuts him off with a high angle backdrop and then Cole runs into a clothesline. Cole gets a vertical neckbreaker and both men crawl to their corners. Parker and Strong tag in and Strong cleans house. Everyone gets backbreakers from Strong. Strong covers Parker and Menard breaks it up and two. Kyle is tagged in and then gets rid of Menard and it’s time for the Undisputed Kingdom to take everyone out. They hit the high low on Parker for the pin and the win.
Winners: Undisputed Kingdom
Everyone shakes hands.
We then get a promo from Max Caster, who says that while his friends turned their back on him, the fans support him so he is announcing the Best Wrestler Alive Challenge.
The screen fills with some computer code to hint that Hologram is returning.
Lexi Nair is with Top Flight and they say they can't find Lio Rush and Action Andretti Darius reminds Dante that he didn’t want Lio Rush in the group, and he has to clean up the mess. He challenges Lio Rush to a match.
Tony Schiavone is in the ring to hype Grand Slam Australia and brings out Mariah May and Toni Storm for a face to face.
May just wants it over with. Toni goes for a big handshake and May just glares at her. May says when she looks at Storm, she sees nothing. When she thinks about Storm, she feels nothing. She then says Storm is nothing in the heart of the fans. She keeps running down Storm. Storm looks as if she is near tears.
Storm says she is Mariah May’s biggest fan, and she says May is an inspiration. And one day, she wants to be just like her. She then hugs May and May gives her a big slap. May tells Tony to leave the ring, and he obliges. She starts beating down Toni with the belt until the refs get in the ring to back her off. When security shows, she goes back to beating Storm. She ends by spitting on Storm and then goes to the back.
Toni then grabs the mic and says “What makes you think that I’ve forgotten” in the Timeless voice. She reminds us it is her moment in the sun and the hardest role you will ever play is yourself and strips down to her underwear. She says May was born from her womb, and she will shove her back up there. Then she will rip May’s….um…chest off.
We get a clip from Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli on Close Up with Renee Paquette. Mox says he wants to fill AEW with people like him, so the company lasts long after he’s gone.
Gates Of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) vs (Hounds of Hell) Buddy Matthews and Brody King w/Julia Hart
We now have the names Hounds of Hell for the former House of Black members
Kaun and Buddy start off, trading headlocks and then hip tosses. Toa is tagged in they run the ropes and well with Toa getting the shoulder tackle. King tags in and they charge at each other repeatedly and then they throw hands. They each try to lift the other and can’t. Kaun tags in and they double-team King with blows in the corner. They work him over with quick tags.
King escapes and tags in Buddy, and Buddy gets a series of quick kicks and Toa doesn’t flinch. Buddy gets a shotgun drop-kick that knocks Toa to the floor and then dives onto both Toa and Kaun as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Buddy has been worked over through the break. King is slammed into the timekeeper’s bell on the floor as well. Buddy finally shoves Toa into Kaun and crawls to make the tag. King is tagged in and runs wild. Toa cuts him off with a headbutt and then hits a Samoan drop for two. All four men are fighting in the ring. Kaun and Buddy are taken out and Toa tries for a power slam but can’t pick him up, King reverses it for a pile driver. Toa gets up and takes a meteora from Buddy. They hit the double team attack in the corner on Kaun for the pin and the win.
Winners: Hounds of Hell
In the back, Lexi and Harley Cameron are now with Big Boom AJ and Big Justice. Harley says they bring the bam, oatmeal raisin cookies and tuna melt. She hypes their new song and then Harley starts to sing, but they are interrupted by Deonna Purrazzo and Taya Valkyrie.
AJ and Big Justice say Boom and Harley stage whispers “It’s Bam.” I love Harley’s new role.
Lexi is with Penelope Ford and Thunder Rosa and Rosa says this place is the heart of AEW. Ford says she doesn’t care about the past, she cares about the future. Ford challenges Rosa to a match.
Queen Aminara vs Deonna Purrazzo vs Serena Deeb vs Yuka Sakazaki - Winner receives a TBS Title Match against Mercedes Mone this Wednesday on Dynamite
Everyone tries for a quick rollup at the start of the match. Deeb works over Yuka as Purrazzo leaves the ring. Aminata hits a suplex on Deeb so that Yuka and Aminata fight for a bit. Purrazzo tosses Yuka and Taya Valkyrie works over Yuka on the floor. Deeb puts Aminata in a leg hold and suplexes Purrazzo at the same time.
Deeb gets a neckbreaker on Aminata in the ropes, and is attacked by Purrazzo from the back. Yuka drop-kicks Aminata from the top and then she dives onto everyone else on the floor as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Purrazzo gets a spinning arm bar on Aminata, who rolls back for a two count. They trade quick attacks and clothesline each other down. EVERYONE is down. Deeb rolls into the ring and goes for Yuka, and they trade kicks. Yuka gets a step-up kick in the corner and then goes to the rope for a crossbody for two, broken up by Purrazzo. Aminata is up and gets suplexed by Deeb. Deeb then gets a lariat on Aminata for two.
Deeb and Aminata fight on the ramp way onto the stage. In the ring, Yuka starts for a suplex, but Taya breaks it up. Purrazzo and Taya set for a suplex on Yuka, but Harley Cameron hits the ring to break it up. She takes out Taya, and Purrazzo takes her out with a pump kick. Purrazzo gets a power bomb on Yuka and then tries for an arm bar, but Yuka escapes and gets the rollup for the pin and the win.
Winner and getting a TBS Title Match: Yuka Sakazaki
Lexi is with the Hounds of Hell and Okada is there laughing and says Buddy barks like a bitch. Buddy challenges him for the title. When Okada says no and flips him off, he says Okada is the bitch. They leave and Okada yells “I’m not a bitch!” as they leave.
Big Bill comes to the ring and says Powerhouse Hobbs will be locked up for attacking him in the parking lot. He says that Hobbs says everything started here, and now he is going to finish it. Hobbs comes out and tosses security out of his way. Hobbs throws hands and Bill goes right for the knee. They brawl to the stage where Bill hits Hobbs with a backpack. Bill empties the backpack when has a knee brace, a brick, and handcuffs. Bill Hobbs out Hobbs with the handcuffs.
Hobbs is busted open and they fight across the stage in front of the stands there. Bill slams Hobbs’ head into the announcer’s table. Bill then nails Hobbs across the back with a chair. Bill beats him back across the stage with the chair. Bill grabs the knee brace and mocks him with it before going back to beating Hobbs down.
Bill grabs a brick. Hobbs stops Bill with a low blow kick and then lays in blows and more kicks. Hobbs then hits a belly to belly off the stage through a table in the ramp way.
We then get video of a meeting of the Don Callis Family at a Canadian Estate. He says he is still hurt by what Kenny Omega did to him and this is not the same Kenny Omega who he thought would fade away. He says they cannot allow the alliance between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay. Brian Cage says there are five of them and Don tells them not to underestimate Omega. Don then says “Who says there are only five of us.”
Konosuke Takeshita (AEW International Champion) w/Don Callis vs Katsuyori Shibata
Jim Ross rejoins commentary and Don joins them as well.
They trade waistlocks. They move to mat grappling and keep jockeying for position. They work to their feet and trade holds with neither getting the upper hand for long. Lots of good hold/counter hold work here.
They break and Takeshita gets in kicks to take over. Shibata lays in elbows to the back of Takeshita's head. Shibata runs into a big boot from Takeshita. Shibata is tossed to the floor and Takeshita then tosses him over the barricade. They brawl in the crowd. Shibata tosses Takeshita back into the ringside area as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Shibata gets a big boot in the corner. He lays in elbow strikes and then chops on Takeshita. Shibata gets a running drop-kick on Takeshita on the mat in the corner. Shibata gets a suplex for two. Shibata tries to pick up Takeshita, who cant’ get up. Takeshita gets to his knees and Shibata gets strikes and kicks, but Takeshita follows with a release German suplex. They trade suplexes and Shibata gets a back trip on Takeshita and both men are down.
They trade forearms as they get to their feet. Shibata gets out of a vertical hold and grabs a sleeper hold. Takeshita falls backwards and Shibata keeps the hold on. Takeshita gets to his feet and backs into the corner. Takeshita pills Shibata over for a Styles Clash, into a suplex, and then a V Trigger. Shibata gets a running kick as well.
Both men are down, struggling to get up. Shibata gets a ripcord forearm. He then hits a series of upkicks. Shibata gets an abdominal stretch and Don leaves to go to the ring. Don says something to the timekeeper as Takeshita gets a suplex out of the hold. Shibata goes for a running kick and Don grabs his foot. Takeshita takes advantage of this and gets a roll up for two. Takeshita gets a Blue Thunder bomb for one only.
They charge at each other and Shibata is the one who goes down. Takeshita gets the burning hammer for the pin and the win.
