AEW Women's Champion Mariah May appeared on First Coast Living on the Jacksonville NBC affiliate this morning, promoting AEW's return to Daily's Place.
May said she will be going face to face with Toni Storm, describing her as her biggest rival. She ran down their history and the NBC host marveled about how heavy the Women's Championship belt is.
May was asked about her career goals. She noted the big goal was to move from London to The United States. She won a title within her first year of being in AEW. She said AEW just a baby at five years old and is now on Max as well as TBS and TNT. Her goal is to keep making history. She now lives in Orlando but travels all over the world including Japan.
May got into wrestling because her brothers were fans and she was able to invite them to see her win the title in front of 50,000 fans at All In in London.
They went into the new personality change for Storm and that May will now be battling a different version of her. This will be the first time she's met this version of her. She was a 1940s Hollywood starlet but has now reverted back to her rookie gear. Their faceoff tomorrow will happen in front of the fans.
They plugged fans can get tickets at Ticketmaster.
May said Daily's Place is a cool, intimate venue.
It was a good, short appearance with May coming off well and personable.
