Why do you always capitalize Gunther when you mention his name?

WWE advertises and bills him as GUNTHER in all capitals, so I do the same.  That's the name of the character.

If you were going to suggest a documentary to learn about territory wrestling, which would you suggest?

Memphis Heat, Heroes of World Class and Jim Crockett Promotions - The Good Old Days would be where I would start.  I would then watch Lipstick & Dynamite.

How did you first discover the "inside" of pro wrestling?

It's actually a weird story.  I came home from High School in 1991 and in the mail for me was the first issue of John Arezzi's Pro Wrestling Spotlight.  I had no idea such a world existed and I was blown away.  To this day, I have no idea why it came to my home as it was addressed to a former address my family formerly lived in a year before and came with a bundle of forwarded mail.  The best theory I have is that years before that, I left the old address on the voicemail for Herb Abrams' UWF looking for information on their events in NYC.  My best guess is that either the late Georgiann Makropoulos or Arezzi were handling the mailing list and even though the UWF never sent me anything, they still had my information on file.  When the UWF shut down, the mailing list was used to promote Arezzi's newsletter and as the song goes, a whole new world.  Had that newsletter not found its way to my new address, I doubt I'd still be around pro wrestling as I was starting to inch away from it at that point in my life.  Instead, I found myself listening to John's old show on WEVD-AM in NYC and here we are.  I always thank John when I run into him for that gift.

Could all the Lola Vice stuff with her as a NXT Underground fighter lead to her vs. a UFC fighter given TKO owns both companies and Lola has MMA experience?

I could see them doing that on a big NXT PPV down the line, maybe on Wrestlemania weekend.   That would make an interesting NXT Underground attraction for that weekend if WWE went in that direction. We will see.  Obviously, there's an easy crossover there since as you mentioned, TKO owns it all.

What's your favorite, most underrated run for a promotion?

Absolutely Continental Wrestling when Eddie Gilbert was booking it with himself, Missy Hyatt, Paul Heyman, Pez Whatley, Tom Prichard, Dirty White Boy, Nightmare Danny Davis, Shane Douglas, Sid as Lord Humongous, etc.  it aired on The Financial News Network on cable in NYC and it was absolutely great every week, at least until Gilbert, etc. moved on.   I'm not sure where the rights to the footage lands but it was really great weekly television at the time.
