1/22/25 Results of New Japan's Road to The New Beginning from Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan:
1 - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Shoma Kato
Tanahashi forces Kato to tap out to a Texas Cloverhold.
2 - Daiki Nagai, Katsuya Murashima, Boltin Oleg and Toru Yano vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi and Ren Narita
Kanemaru forces Nagai to tap out to a Boston Crab.
3 - TAKA Michinoku and Taichi vs. Clark Conners and SANADA
SANADA comes to the ring wearing a shirt saying "F**K Just 4 Guys". SANADA is building heat for his match against Taichi.
Conners pins TAKA after hitting No Chaser.
Taichi and SANADA continue to brawl into the crowd after the match. Taichi grabs a chair and War Dogs escape the ring area.
4 - Master Wato, Tomohiro Ishii and Shota Umino vs. Jakob Austin Young, Francesco Akira and Great O-Khan
Wato pins Young with a deadlift German suplex.
After the match, O-Khan takes a glow stick from a fan that Umino gave it to during the ring entrance. O-Khan threatened to break the stick, but Umino attacked O-Khan and threw him into a guardrail. Umino gave the stick back to the fan.
New Japan is trying hard to rebuild the image of Shota Umino to be the ultimate babyface, who they can build the company around.
5 - Tomoaki Honma, YOH and YOSHI-HASHI vs. Hartley Jackson, Robbie Eagles and Ryohei Oiwa
Oiwa pins Honma after hitting The Grip.
6 - Hiromu Takahashi, Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi and Yota Tsuji vs. Gedo, Taiji Ishimori, Drilla Moloney and Gabe Kidd
Hiromu forces Gedo to tap out to Maximum Beholding (modified figure four).
Moloney and Takagi brawled after the match. Kidd and Tsuji jawed back and forth. Both groups building towards their single matches at New Beginning.
7 - El Desperado and Hirooki Goto vs. Kosei Fujita and Zack Sabre Jr.
Good match. There was a brief exchange between Desperado and ZSJ as former Suzuki-Gun members. But Goto and ZSJ had a great wrestling match. ZSJ trapped Goto in a Triangle Choke, until Desperado makes the save. Fujita takes out Desperado on the floor. ZSJ with neck twist on Goto and picks him up for a Zack Driver. Goto escapes and rolls ZSJ into a Goto Ni Shiki.
Goto pins ZSJ.
Massive pop for Goto for pinning the World Heavyweight Champion.
Good build for the upcoming World Title Match. Goto pinning Zack shows the crowd he can win the title.
Goto and Desperado shake hands in the ring, which may mean Desperado is a member of CHAOS. We will see.
