Did I got stupid, or the number 1 in a gauntlet match is the most unfavorable? So, Why did Kris Statlander fought and won a three-way match with the number 1 on the line and Toni Storm who lost in that match (and was so sad) entered with the 6 or 7 and win? AEW Mysteries or did I have lost anything? Thank you.
You aren't stupid at all but perhaps it's something that needed to be explained better. Since it was a gauntlet, if you are in earlier you have greater chance of winning, since it's won with the first fall. So, Statlander fought to have that (hopeful) advantage as you don't need all the competitors to have entered in order for the finish to happen. Technically, the match could end 35 seconds in.
If TKO wanted to get into alcohol sales why didn’t they ask Steve Austin first? It’s part of his gimmick, so it makes more sense for him to be the face of the product. Best of all, he’s not a walking PR disaster that constantly lies or sticks his foot in his mouth. If they get those beers on the shelves they’ll have a product that outlives even Austin. Your thoughts?
I would guess that is because Steve Austin already independently has his own Broken Skull IPA.
What happened to Stokely Hathaway? Is he still with AEW?
He is not currently on AEW programming, but we are told he is still with the company.
I was a very big fan of AEW when it first came out and I think the hottest it ever got was when they sold out Arthur Ashe with Omega vs Danielson. That being said I go back and watch the behind the stage footage and everytime they show Gorilla you see Cody with a headset on. Have you talked to people about how important his role was with the company and how things have changed since his departure. Was he the filter for storylines to Tony and the presentation of the AEW show as a whole?
Cody was an EVP in every sense of the word and took his role as a producer very seriously, since he was now in the same position his father used to be in. I don't think anyone would argue AEW changed once Cody moved on to WWE. No one has ever disavowed he was extremely important behind the scenes when he was there. I don't know he was the entire filter but he was absolutely someone Khan would bounce things off.
With the new TNA NXT deal announced it got me wondering. The knockouts champion have been in the last 2 Royal rumbles. What if the current men's champion entered this year. Would the call him Nic or Dolph?
Obviously, Joe Hendry is the champ now, but I would hope he's Nic Nemeth if he appeared.
