NO, HOGAN WASN'T BOOED FOR RIGHT WING POLITICS, WHAT HIS NEXT MOVE SHOULD BE, MARK HENRY, THE SAUDIS ALLEGEDLY BUYING WWE STORY AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2025-01-10 10:00:00

What do you make of Mark Henry's comment that Hulk Hogan turned down his invitation to join Mark in touring black colleges and law schools?

I would say that had Hogan taken Mark up on that and showed some apologetic behavior, he wouldn't have been booed this past Monday on Raw.  Fans will forgive, but you have to actually act towards that forgiveness in order for it to happen.  Hogan should be remembered with the same reverance that Roddy Piper, Randy Savage and Ric Flair receive.  He's the only one preventing himself from allowing that to happen, in my opinion.  If I am Hogan, I am calling Mark Henry and asking for his help.  Mark is an extremely classy man and I am sure he would still be willing to assist.

What do you make of some feeling Hogan was booed for his ties to Donald Trump?

I'd say Paul Levesque and The Undertaker were not booed for their ties to Trump that evening, right?  Undertaker literally had Trump on his podcast and fans still loved seeing him, so the argument it was Trump or right wing politics doesn't hold up to any legitimate scrutiny.  Hogan being rejected live by the fans that night had everything to do with how Hogan has never actually apologized or tried to show personal growth in the aftermath of the racist language on that Bubba the Love Sponge tape coming out publicly, nothing else.

I remember awhile back there was a story that Saudi Arabia was going to buy WWE.  Was there ever anything to it and if not, why was it reported in certain places? Did anyone ever apoligize for this?

There was nothing to the story, since it was that the company "had been sold."  Obviously, that wasn't true since Endeavor now owns WWE!  How it got reported is, in my opinion, a bunch of people heard the rumor and since they didn't have actual sources to find out the truth, they instead bought into the BS and as it was shared amongst themselves, they all decided that since "they all heard it" it must be true.  All that really happened was they exposed themselves.  I don't know whether they apologized, but if they mis-reported something, they certainly should have.  If they didn't, that's all you needed to know, right?    It was a bad look for all involved.

Did any WWE/pro wrestling personalities suffer damage in the Los Angeles fires?

The only person I know of would be the legendary Jeremy Padawer, who created and ran the WWE Classic Superstars toy line for Jakks and then created the AEW action figure line.  He's publicly announced that his family lost their home as well as his automobiles and his entire pop culture memorabilia collection that was worth millions, but Padawer made it clear that none of those matters as his entire family and their pets were all safe.  Jeremy is a hell of a great person and we all wish his family the best.  He's done a lot for pro wrestling and talents specifically to make money through the toy industry and has always just wanted to help pro wrestling because he loves it, the same as all of us, so it's really depressing to know what he and so many others are going through.

I have not heard of anyone else in the wrestling circle out of Cali who may have dealth with any damage or loss, but it's possible there are others and certainly there were some who had to evacuate.  This was and still is a frightening situation and everyone has been dealing with lot of worry and stress this week, so we wish everyone in Cali the best.

What was the worst/scariest injury you've seen live?

The worst injury I've personally seen was easily an ECW student named Kareem who was making his debut and slipped off the top rope and broke his leg during an angle that was edited to remove 99% of his appearance in 1996 or 1997. The crack scared the hell out of me, it was so loud. I felt awful for the guy as he was laying in the ring as the angle was ongoing, especially when Sandman caned him as he was down on the mat.

Another that I recall being really scared by was seeing Chris Daniels' rib literally dislocate and pop back into place during a match against Doug Williams in ROH in 2002. I nearly lost my lunch seeing that 5 feet in front of me. Thankfully, Daniels was OK.

I guess I would also consider a lot of the Death Match wrestling injuries I've seen, but those are a totally different animal.
