Oba Femi captured the WWE NXT title tonight while Giulia won the WWE NXT Wolmen's Championship. Lexis King won the Heritage Cup.
CM Punk was backstage at NXT's taping in Los Angeles tonight.
The taping tonight was sold out thanks to walk-up at the Shrine.
[Update: NXT will air tomorrow, Wednesday 1/8 at 8 PM Pacific] WWE NXT was preempted in the Los Angeles market due to KTLA coverage of the fires in the Pacific Palisades. Around 30,000 residents had to be evacuated. No word when the episode may air. A rep from the station told PWInsider the episode "may" air at 11 PM local time, but that's all dependent on whether there needs to be additional news coverage. PWInsider.com sends our best to everyone there as it's an absolutely frightening situation.
For those of you who watch WPIX in NYC on Optimum, there was a crawl running under NXT tonight that the channel could be removed from the cable service due to an ongoing issue over rights fees (aka money.) If it is pulled, that would mean no NXT TV for subscribers of that service. This may be an issue with other stations in other markets as well we are told.
Next week's WWE NXT TV will feature:
*Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson vs. Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre to determine the top contenders to the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
*WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Axiom and Nathan Frazer vs. Bronco Nima and Lucien Price.
*Stephanie Vaquer vs. Shotz to determine the top contender to the NXT North American Women's Championship.
