By Cory Strode on 2024-12-20 23:15:00

It is Friday and AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite in the the Entertainment and Sports And Entertainment Arena in Washington DC. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Matt Menard, and Ian Riccaboni.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring to speak to Don Callis and Kyle Fletcher. Brian Cage, Lance Archer, and Konosuke Takeshita come with them. Callis introduces the Family as the 1% of Wrestling.  Fletcher says people in AEW don’t want him to succeed and he runs down Daniel Garcia. Callus says he’s not like the rest, and runs down Powerhouse Hobbs and Mark Davis.

Konosuke Takeshita and Brian Cage vs Powerhouse Hobbs and Mark Davis

Cage has a new look with a full beard and no longer has the mohawk.

Hobbs and Takeshita trade blows in the middle of the ring and run the ropes.  Hobbs goes for a spine buster, but Takeshita escapes it and goes to the floor.

Don Callis joins commentary.

Cage tags in and throws hands with Hobbs. Davis tags in and they charge into Cage. Davis lays in chops in the corner and gets a scoop slam on Cage for one. Hobbs is tagged in and they attempt a two back backdrop. Takeshita gets in the ring to catch him, and Rakeshita nails Davis. Takeshita a Cage double team Hobbs for a two count, and Hobbs is kept in the ring with quick tags.

Cage and Hobbs throw hands at one point and the crowd chants Meat.  Hobbs gets a back body drop and crawls to his corner for the hot tag. Davis fires shots at Cage, but Cage gets his knees-up when Davis goes for a senton. Takeshita gets a blue thunder bomb for two as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Davis has been the babyface in peril through the break. Davis gets a backdrop and both men are down. They crawl to their corners, and Takeshita and Hobbs are tagged in and Hobbs runs wild. Hobbs calls for the spine buster on Takeshita, who counters it. It doesn’t last long as Hobbs is able to get a spinebuster for two, as Cage breaks it up as Davis tries to stop him.

Takeshita tags in Cage, and they both attack Hobbs in the corner. Cage gets a pump handle slam for two. Takeshita is tagged in and Hobbs runs the ropes with Davis getting a blind tag. The tag team alarm goes off, and all four men are fighting in the ring. Everyone gets a finisher on the last person. Hobbs and Cage roll to the floor, leaving Davis and Takeshita in the ring. Davis gets an insigiri and they run the ropes. Takeshita gets a running knee, and then Raging Fire for the pin and the win.

In the back, Renee Paquette is with Willow Nightingale, who talks about her match at Wrestle Dynasty and is interrupted by Kris Statlander, who says there is a lot she needs to say, but for now, she wishes Willow luck.

Lio Rush and Action Andretti vs Goldy and Miles Hawkins

Goldy and Hawkins aren’t already in the ring since we come back from the commercial with the bell ringing, but you get the idea. Rush gets the pin after Andretti gets a neck breaker.

Private Party come to the stage and are attacked by Rush and Andretti when Top Flight’s music hits. Top Flight drive off Rush and Andretti just by showing up.

Renee is with Harley Cameron and Penelope Ford shows and she says they have a couple of things in common. Harley asked how much Ford’s were as she holds her chest.  Ford says they have a win/loss record in common and maybe they should watch each other’s backs.  Harley says to feel the wrath of Harley Cameron until Renee says “She was nice to you” and Harley says that Ford WON’T feel the wrath of Harley Cameron. She then asks Renee what is on her back.

I like how Harley is in these promos.

King chops him into the corner and then does the same in subsequent corners. Komander tries to come off the ropes into King, and King gets him with a back body drop. After a few more big attacks from King, Komander leaps into King’s arms and Komander is able to escape into a sunset flip and King just powers out of it.

Komander is able to get on King’s back for an escalera, and King backs into the corner. Komander gets a series of kicks on King’s legs and tries to climb the ropes for a big arm drag, but King just chops him and he falls to the floor as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Brody has Komander in the ropes. Komander comes off the ropes onto King, and locks in an abdominal stretch while on King’s back. King pulls him off and misses a senton, but Komander hits one of his own. Komander hits a crucifix bomb, and King rolls to the floor. Komander leaps into King’s arms on the floor and King slams him into the barricade.

King puts him on his shoulders and climbs to the second turnbuckle. Komander turns it into a crucifix bomb and Komander goes to the top for a 450 splash for two.
