AEW COLLISION REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2024-12-14 22:11:00

It is Saturday and AEW Collision was recorded Thursday night at the Chaifetz Arena on the campus of the St. Louis University in St Louis, MO. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness. And since it’s on at the same time as Saturday Night’s Main Event, I am going to be watching thai one by myself.

We see that Will Ospreay thanks Darby Allin for helping him on Dynamite, and Darby tells him something is going to happen if they don’t do something about the Death Riders. Will says he needs to rack up wins in the tournament, and Darby says if they don’t do something, this will be the last Continental Classic.  Will says after the tournament, knock on his door and he will be in the foxhole with him.

We then get quick sound bites from everyone in a Continental Classic match later on.

Willow Nightingale vs Jamie Hayter - Wrestle Dynasty Final Tournament match

They shake hands to start and get quick takedowns and pop back up. They lock up and break a couple of times showing they are evenly matched. Jamie moves to a side headlock and is shoved into the ropes where she tries a series of shoulder tackles that don’t drop Willow. Willow is able to knock Jamie down with her own shoulder tackle for two. They both try a back slide and Willow is able to get it for two.

Jamie tries again and Willow flips her over into a two count. They trade chops, moving to elbows and then just slugging it out. Willow goes to the corner and they trade chops there. They trade chops into the middle of the ring, into the ropes, and Jamie whips Willow across the ring and hits a big knee. They fight on the apron and Jamie gets a DDT onto the apron.

The lights go out for a second, and then they start brawling on the floor as Willow gets to recover and comes off the apron with a cannonball into Jamie as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, they are fighting on the top turnbuckle, and Jamie gets a suplex from the second rope. Both struggle to get up and Jamie is up first. Jamie gets a running knee for two. Jamie gets a neckbreaker followed by a clothesline for two. They start throwing hands and kicks in the middle of the ring until they take each other out with pump kicks. Willow is up first and hits a torture rack drop down and follows with a moonsault off the bottom rope for two.

Willow goes to the top and Jamie meets her there and gets a German suplex. Jamie comes off the ropes into a pounce from Willow. Willow goes for a power bomb, and Jamie escapes out the back for two. Jamie gets a backbreaker, but hurts her own knee doing so. Jamie calls for the Haterade clothesline. She misses and Willow gets the power bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner and going on to Wrestle Dynasty in Japan: Willow Nightingale.

Willow helps Jamie up and has a bloody nose.

The lights go out and when they come back on, Julia Hart hits Jamie with a DDT.

We get a promo from Claudio Castagnoli about how he doesn’t respect anyone in the tournament.

Kazuchika Okada vs The Beast Mortos - Continental Classic match

They lock up and Mortos forces them to the corner. Okada reverses it and taps Mortos’s chest. Mortos backs them up again and this time Okada pokes him in the eye and starts laying in blows followed by a side headlock. Okada comes off the ropes and runs into the brick wall that is Mortos. Mortos goes to run the ropes and Okada grabs his hair and kicks him. Mortos then runs through Okada, lays in stomps and then whips him to the corner. Mortos hits a power slam on Okada.

Mortos runs into a big boot from Okada, and then he gets tossed to the floor by Okada. Okada follows him to the floor and lays in strikes. Okada tosses Mortos into the ring, which was a poor choice, as Mortos hits a tornado tope from the ring. Mortos tosses Okada into the ring steps and then goes for a cannonball, and Okada dodges it, causing Mortos to hit the steps. Okada hits DDT on the floor as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Okada drives Mortos into the corner and then runs into a back elbow from Mortos, who follows with a big boot and a bulldog. Toni Storm vs the Already in the Ring Shazza McKenzie (who was in the same role last night on Rampage)

Shazza gets a little offense before Storm beats her with the hip attack and a Storm Zero which Nigel says is Mariah May’s move.

Winner: Toni Storm

Storm then says after the match that Toni Storm is All Elite

We get a video from after Dynamite where she says she doesn’t care about the return of Toni Storm, and she will beat everyone in AEW like she did Mina Shirakawa. And Mina needs to go back to modeling, because her career is over. She then says she will end Thunder Rosa’s life as well. Anyone may have the same dream, but there is only one reality.

Thunder Rosa is with Tony Schiavone, and she cuts a fiery promo and Toni shows and acts as if she has never met Rosa or Tony and shakes their hands like a fangirl. Rosa goes back to her promo and says she will meet May in two weeks in a Tijuana Street Fight.

So, Storm’s new gimmick is that she doesn't remember anything before being Timeless?  If it is as fun as Timeless Toni, it could be fun!

Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin) with Leila Grey vs Action Andretti and Lio Rush

Now Lio and Action are wearing versions of the jacket with big puffy spikes and looks goofy as possible. They have new music and act like heels on the way to the ring.

Lio gets a blind tag, and this rings the Tag Team Alarm siren and all four men are in the ring as we go to picture in picture.

Fantastic sequence of Top Flight and Lio flipping through each other to get the two count on Lio. Andretti and Lio double team Darius, slamming him for a two count.

Andretti is tagged in and they go for a two-man slam, but Dante saves him and it’s all four men in the ring again. LOTS of kicks and dives as they fight.
