The Last Showgirl, featuring Dave Bautista in an important supporting role, officially hits theaters today in the United States. A friend in the entertainment industry saw a screening a few weeks ago and relayed that Bautista's work in the film is very strong.
Meanwhile, Deadline.com is reporting that Bautista and Anne Hathaway will be starring in a new action comedy for Amazon MGM Studios. Deadline's report notes, "The film is inspired by an actual FBI sting in which agents posed as a couple to infiltrate global criminal enterprises. It culminated in a staged wedding in New Jersey. When the crime bosses checked in for their table assignments, they were arrested and dragged away so as not to tip off the next suspect."
