Am I crazy or was the scene of the shooting of the Healthcare Exec the same place Wrestlecon was in NYC?
Yes, it was the same hotel. WWE held the Hall of Fame ceremony there in 2004.
I had some questions about legal cases you have reported on in the past:
1 - Did Tammy Sytch ever pay restitution to anyone she hurt or the PA county that was seeking her reimbursing them for her previous crimes?
Sytch has a civil trial in March 2025 over the Florida traffic incident that led to her DUI arrest and conviction where she is being sued by the Lasseter estate, so no, not as of this writing.
The State of PA noted Sytch was over 2,000 days delinquint in reimbursing them for court costs and other fees back in October. Legal documents do not show any payments made to them. It does not seem that the State of PA is aware she's incarcerated in Florida.
Given that Sytch will be in prison for decades, I don't know how she would have the means to pay them back, either.
2 - Why does the Ted DiBiase case keep getting pushed back?
DiBiase was originally scheduled to stand trial on 7/16 but the case was pushed back when the previous judge recused himself from the case. There is no reason for that decision disclosed in any court records that PWInsider.com has been able to confirm. The trial was then set for 1/7/25 with a pre-trial hearing set for 12/13. In November, WJTV in Mississippi reported that during a hearing, was discussion that DiBiase may need to find new representation for his defense as there may be a conflict of interest as his attorneys previously represented someone else who was involved in the same scandal that snared DiBiase. A new criminal trial date for DiBiase Jr. was been set for August 26, 2025.
3 - Did Kimber Lee go to trial yet?
No. Kimberly Frankele (Kimber Lee) is scheduled to go on jury trial for charges of DUI, Resisting an Office with Violence and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer before Highlands County Court in Florida on 2/10/25 at 8:30 AM. There will be a hearing on 2/5/25. Jury selection will commence on 2/10.
4 - Whatever happened to the Teddy Hart case in Florida?
Over the summer, the case was listed as being reassigned and there's been no update reflected in the court records since. We are told Hart is back living in Canada.
5 - 2 Cold Scorpio case updates?
It is making its way through the court system in Kansas. There is no official trial date that I am aware of.
6 - Did the ships and plunder guy ever come back for another lawsuit?
Not that I am aware. It may be he is still out to sea and will file something when he returns to shore.
7 - Did you ever think when you went to Tony Lukes the first time, one day you'd be writing about a criminal case where the father and son are on opposite sides?
No, I wasn't even thinking I'd ever be writing about pro wrestling the first time I went there in 1994! That entire case should be made into a documentary! It was insane.
