MLW returned to NYC at the Melrose Ballroom last night. They were just a smidgen under being completely sold out of standing room, so the crowd was a little lower than last time but all the seats were sold.
Update: MLW's Court Bauer sent word the company was sold out at the door.
Eric Bischoff's debut was a great success as all of his segments, live and taped, were well done. It was teased at the end of the show that he had actually come there for nefarious means and had acquired MLW documents for someone. Bischoff had a massive line for a post-show meet and greet.
Oil City News had a piece on Bischoff and his love for Wyoming, where he lives.
Producers for the evening were Bobby Fish, Mads Kruger, Okumura, Jesus Rodriguez, Alex Greenfield and MSL with Court Bauer obviously overseeing. Former NXT writer Nick Bonanno was also working the show.
Northeast Wrestling Promoter Mike Lombardi was visiting at the show.
Babathunder, formerly known as Babatunde in WWE will be back.
The legendary Atlas Security were the house. There was an attempt by someone to try and get backstage before the show, where they should not have been, and well, they met with Atlas and well, let's just say they were removed from the venue, whether they wanted to be removed or not.
There was a big line for Mistico's signing before the show. MLW tapping into the CMLL talents brings there a pretty sizable Latin audience in NYC.
The legendary George Napolitano was shooting photos for part of the show. Off camera on the broadcast, Madds Kruger tripped while exiting the ring. In order to get his heat back, he decided to go after Napolitano, who was at ringside, and "choked" him out. Napolitano was helped to the back and remained there to sell the attack. George apparently needed to hire Atlas Security!
They taped content for Holiday Rush 2024 which will stream on Christmas Eve and be headlined by Satoshi Kojima vs. Ultimo Guerrero.
The word in the venue was MLW would likely return to The Melrose Ballroom in the first quarter of 2025, but no dates were known.
Paul Walter Hauser went out of his way upon leaving the venue to stop and sign for every kid he came across and wish them a Merry Christmas.
Upcoming dates are 1/11 in Dallas, 2/8 in Atlanta, 4/5 in Los Angeles, and 5/10 in Chicago.
No update on the hoped for March Toronto debut.
