I've been a Triple H guy since the Black & Gold NXT but seeing him kissing Trump's ass at UFC has me broken-hearted, to the point I think I am done watching WWE. Any advice?
Yes. If this makes you not want to watch WWE, don't watch, but seriously, let's think about this: when did Paul Levesque ever publicly state his politics? It's not like he suddenly revealed it and stabbed everyone in the heart. It was always out there if you think about it. His mother-in-law is going to be in the Trump cabinet, so why would it be a shock Levesque greets and hugs Trump? It wasn't to me, in the least - remember, there was a photo of the McMahon family in the Oval Office during his previous administration. It's not like he was going to disrespect Trump, in public, standing next to Dana White no less. There were a lot of personalities from the Trump circle at UFC 309, were you shocked watching it? Did it make you not want to watch UFC going forward, too? I think you might have been a little naive here, but you have every right to be disappointed (and trust, there's a lot lately to be disappointed about in the world of late, I could make a massive list) and perhaps you need to take a break, or go watch AEW, TNA, etc. The best advice I can give you is what someone gave me when I was really down about something - just find what makes you happy and distract yourself with that. If it's not WWE or even pro wrestling, go find something. Music. Muppets. Horror movies. Go distract yourself, because lots of this stuff is outside your sphere of influence, and you if you get caught in the vortex of stuff you can't control, your own quality of life is going to suffer. Don't let it. Wrestling is meant to be escapist entertainment. If it doesn't make you escape, find another route.
I saw WWE announced Cody and Roman for the first Raw on Netflix. Are they moving brands?
No, I would think the first Raw will be similar to WWE PPV events where they are "all hands on deck" so to speak. You KNOW they are going to pull all the stops out for that debut episode. Why leave their biggest names on the sideline? WWE is getting paid a LOT of money by Netflix. They have to come in all guns blazing.
With all the talk that Jon Moxley is so strongly involved in the AEW main event direction going forward, should AEW go all the way and have him booking instead of Tony Khan?
I am sure Moxley has as much influence as anyone when it comes to getting his vision and ideas on AEW programming, but I don't ever envision a world where Tony Khan isn't the booker.
When should we expect to see The Young Bucks returning?
I am told we won't see them in the ring before January 2025. I could see them popping up at the Tokyo Dome for New Japan first and then AEW after that.
Was Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul a work?
I am told no, it was not a work. If it was a work, they'd have had a far more fulfilling fight in terms of doing something to get a big crowd reaction. That was a legit fight, just like Antonio Inoki vs. Muhammad Ali. Sometimes real isn't exciting.
