It is Friday and AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite in the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Matt Menard, and Tony Schiavone.

Hikaru Shida vs Leila Grey

They lock up and move to arm bars and the side headlocks. Shida is shot into the ropes and knocks down Grey with a shoulder tackle. Grey gets kicks in but Shida is able to get a spinning waist lock takedown with a lot of spinning. Shida puts Grey on the apron and gets the running knee lift on the floor.

Grey gets a series of elbow strikes to get out of a fireman’s carry into a rollup for two. Grey gets a series of kicks, followed by a drop-kick for two. Grey runs Shida into a pair of corners, and then lays in chops in the corner. Shida reverses and gets a straight right hand and Grey is able to whip Shida to the corner for a rising knee strike, a bulldog, and a cover for two.

They throw hands in the middle of the ring and Shida ends the exchange with a short arm clothesline and then ten in the corner. Shida gets a missile drop-kick for two and tries to get off the Katana, and Grey dodges the attempt and rolls Shida up for two. Shida gets a series of kicks and a falcon arrow for the pin and their win.

Winner: Hikaru Shida

Renee Paquette is with Harley Cameron, and Harley puts over Mina Shirakawa and pulls out a guitar, and plays a quick song saying that Mina can’t do that. Renee has trouble keeping a straight face but then cuts her off saying they are out of time. They cut away from Harley mid-sentence.

Mark Briscoe vs Ariya Daivari w/Mark Sterling

Sterling cuts a promo about how Briscoe is the dumbest person in wrestling on their way to the ring.

They lock up and go to the corner with Daivari getting shoved out of the corner to the mat as they lock up again. Briscoe gets a shoulder tackle and a spinning elbow strike. Briscoe gets a big chop as Daivari comes off the ropes and then hits a brain buster for two. Briscoe lays in chops in the corner and follows with a drop-kick on Daivari. Daivari is able to get a jawbreaker and whips Briscoe to the floor.

On the floor, Briscoe whips Davari into the barricade, then sets him in a chair and works him over there. Briscoe tosses a chair into the ring and sets to use it as a launching pad, but Sterling pulls it out of thei ring first. Briscoe chases him and Daivari suits him off with a neck breaker as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Daivari puts Briscoe on the top turnbuckle and joins him there. Briscoe fights back and knocks Daivari to the mat. Sterling gets on the apron to allow Daivari to get to his feet. Briscoe leaps over him, but Daivari gets a rear chinlock. Briscoe backs into the corner to break the hold, but Daivari gets a short arm lariat followed by a DDT for two.

Daivari starts with blows, but Briscoe starts to power up. Daivari’s shoulder tackles are ineffective as Briscoe starts hitting a series of palm strikes, and then ten in the corner. Briscoe gets a pair of elbow strikes and then a leaping shoulder tackle. Briscoe gets a clothesline in the corner, followed by a fisherman’s brain buster for two. Daivari gets a trust kick after dodging in a short arm clothesline. Briscoe gets a Death Valley Driver and goes to the top, but Daivari dives onto the ropes to knock Briscoe off the top.

Daivari gets a double underhook, but Briscoe powers Daivari into a back body drop. Sterling gets on the apron, but Rocky Romero runs from the back to pull him off. Briscoe grabs a chair and gets to launch off of it onto Daivari and Sterling. Briscoe hits Froggy Bo for the pin and the win.

Winner: Mark Briscoe

Rocky Romero vs Komander

Komander gets an arm bar, and Rock escapes and hits a drop-kick. Rocky and Komander trade arm drags. They grab a greco roman knuckle lock and they do a series of flips while keeping the hold. Komander gets an arm drag after flipping off the ropes. Komander gets another arm drag after running the ropes and then dives into Rocky on the floor.

Rocky is rolled into the ring and Komander goes to the top. Rocky dodges a leap and gets a front slam as Komander comes off the ropes for two. Rocky gets a backbreaker for two. Rocky whips him into the corner and then gets a German suplex. He drives an s into Komander’s back. Rocky lifts Komander to the top and they fight on the top. Rocky gets a super plex from the second rope as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Komander gets a springboard moonsault off the apron onto Rocky on the floor. Rocky is rolled into the ring, and he is up and grabs Komander off the top, and brings him into the ring. Rocky whips Komander into the ropes and he comes off with a drop-kick. Komander goes to the top and leaps, but Rocky gets his feet up. Rocky hits sliced bread for two.

Komander hits a running power slam into the turnbuckles and then goes to the top for the running the top rope shooting star press for the pin and the win.

Winner: Komander

Lexi Nair is with Anna Jay who says with her match with Mariah May Saturday benign do DQ, she is capable of anything. Taya Valkyrie shows and says The Vendetta will have her back for cash. Anna refuses and Taya says to stay safe out there.

LFI (Rush and Mortos) vs The Already In The Ring Alec Price and Richard Holiday

Rush and Mortos get to show how brutal they are. Holiday has some size on him, and they say he has had over 350 matches and this is another one. I hope he has won some elsewhere in the past because he was just brutalized by Rush before taking the Bull’s Horns as Rush gets the pin and the win.

Winners: LFI

Lexi is with MVP and he says he is scouting talent. He says he sees a lot of young athletes with untapped potential. Some need management and some need to be broken down so they can be rebuilt. He says Swerve Strickland is arrogant, which is his greatest weakness. He says tonight he will be watching Ricochet and Komander impressed him. He then says tomorrow, Shelton Benjamin will see what Komander is made of.  Great promo.

Ricochet vs Dante Martin

This should be a fast-paced high-flier of a match.

They shake hands and then lock up and immediately go to mat work and reversals. They move to arm bars and Dante gets an arm drag. They quickly go to two counts with reversals. When they move to the floor, neither can hit dives from the apron until Dante gets a leaping knee strike. They return to the ring and Ricochet gets a leaping crossbody from the top rope for two as we go to picture in picture.

Weird choice to have two high-fliers in the main event with 10 minute left in the show and 4 minutes of the match is picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Ricochet goes to the top and Dante dodges his leap. Dante throws hand and comes off a two rope leap with a cartwheel leap into Ricochet. Dante hits a dive to the floor and gets a leaping fist from the top rope for two. They struggle from control and Ricochet gets a northern lights suplex into a brain buster. Ricochet then gets a running shooting star press for two. Dante runs into a thrust kick and then leaps into a blue thunder bomb for two.

Dante gets a few knee strikes to block Vertigo from Ricochet and then gets a rollup for two. Ricochet gets a stalling suplex and hits the running clothesline for the pin and the win.

Winner: Ricochet
