WWE star Jacob Fatu deactivated his Twitter account for a time after issues with Fatu failing to appear on a charity event and not repaying the group back in 2023 once again bubbled to the surface on social media.
PWInsider.com reported in June 2023:
"There's been several reports of late of Jacob Fatu not appearing for independent events as scheduled. Indiana's Pro Wrestling King promotion and Wisconsin's Frontline Pro Wrestling have publicly stated that Fatu took advances and then did not get on his flights for bookings, and has not responded to overtures to return advance payments. In the case of the Frontline event, it was a charity show benefitting Jake's Network of Hope, which confirmed it issued the press release linked above. MLW wouldn't be involved in this as Fatu books himself independently. We are told it's not unusual for Fatu to drop communications for a period of time, but he's been active on social media. Obviously, not a good situation for the promotions involved."
Pro Wrestling King later announced that Fatu had reimbursed them, but at the time the Jake's Network of Hope charity had not been.
The story began circulating again on social media over the last several days, leading to Fatu deactivating his Twitter account.
PWInsider.com reached out to the Jake's Network of Hope charity to confirm whether or not they had ever been reimbursed for Fatu's advance pay and flight for the 2023 event he did not attend.
We received the following statement back - "Things are being handled privately between Jacob and Jake’s NoH."
Fatu signed with WWE in the area of April 2024. His Twitter account is again active.
