Samatha Irvin, who quit WWE this past week, confirmed a story PWInsider.com reported was making the rounds on Monday among WWE talents, that Irvin wasn't happy with her existing WWE role as a ring announcer and wanted something else in terms of a role on camera.
On her social media account, Irvin stated, "I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action, but I don’t love being an announcer.”
As PWInsider.com previously reported, Irvin is not en route to any other pro wrestling company. The belief among those we have spoken to is that Irvin has a non-compete from performing in the pro wrestling genre (and perhaps MMA as well) as part of her departure.
Irvin also responded to a fan knocking her decision to leave, writing, "I am so glad I don’t have a boss anymore so I can say this Shut the {expletive deleted] upppppp Woohoo feels great"
