PAUL HEYMAN AT NXT, WWE’S STIFF TICKET PRICES, DAVE MELTZER GETS A STORY CLOSE TO ME VERY WRONG (AGAIN) AND MORE

In talking about Bob Ryder's induction into the TNA Hall, Dave Meltzer stated "Ryder, who was one of the first people to do an internet news web site, 1wrestling.com, parlayed that into a job with ECW, running that company’s website." Isn’t that a lie?

Wow, stop the presses, Dave Meltzer was totally wrong yet again!  In other news, the sun rose in the east this morning and will set in the west.  I know that you aren’t surprised and either am I, butchering the truth is one of his best skills. For the record, and I know all of this for a fact because I was actually there, Bob NEVER worked for ECW.  Bob bought the domain name ECWwrestling.com because at the time, it wasn’t something that was on Paul Heyman’s radar. Bob, like a lot of us, loved ECW and wanted to help the company so he paid to buy the domain and have the site built.  I then ran the actual site, pro bono for years, because I too loved ECW and wanted to help the company since it restored my love of American wrestling (and ironically enough led me into this profession because, wait for it, I saw how many “stories” Meltzer got wrong because I saw the truth happen with my own two eyes).  Anyway, neither Bob nor I were ever paid a cent from ECW or any of its parent companies.  We did it for free out of love of ECW for years. That is the opposite of a job but it doesn’t surprise me that Meltzer got yet another story wrong. If he was a wrestler, being wrong would be his gimmick.  After starting the site, Bob took on Joey Styles as his equal partner.  Once he started working for WCW, he realized the conflict of interested and sold his half of the site to Paul Heyman/ECW for an amount I do not know.  Meltzer owes Bob an apology and a retraction but I won’t hold my breath waiting for it.  He will probably just say “plans changed” or something similarly ridiculous.

I have seen some people online say that Bob Ryder is not worthy of being in the TNA Hall Of Fame. How stupid are those people to say that one of the founders of the company doesn't deserve to be in its Hall Of Fame?

Whatever the highest (or actually lowest) lever of stupid is, that is what they are.

With NXT running the 2300 Arena, what are the chances Paul Heyman makes an appearance?  I know that are probably saving him for Survivor Series, but since the show is taking place at the 2300 arena, it would be cool to at least see him via video or have him do a voice over piece about the history of the arena.  Appreciate the site and all your reporting.

If I were a betting man, I would put money on him being there in some capacity, even if it’s off camera only. He and Tod Gordon MADE that building. He should absolutely be there on November 6.

I've been fortunate enough to attend several RAW and Smackdowns and roughly 20 PPVs, including WrestleMania 22. I am now in my 40s and like to think I'm a bit smarter with my money. I was considering going to WrestleMania in Vegas as it's close to where I live, but when I saw the prices, I almost threw my phone at the wall. It's insane. This made me wonder... With RAW moving to 2 hours, have they lowered the prices for RAW tickets considering the fans are getting less product? I know this is a TKO thing, they've raised the prices for UFC as well, but they're pushing lifelong WWE fans out of attending live events, and it's beyond frustrating.

First, I agree with. I live in Las Vegas and there is no way I would spend what they are asking for those Mania tickets. I have season tickets to the Raiders. I have great seats in the first level that cost $176 apiece per game.  WWE wanted about $2000 more than that for the Mania combo ticket. To your point, I agree that they are going to price people out of being able to attend live shows.  Sometimes when you do that to a fan, they stop being a fan altogether.  As far as I know, they have not adjusted ticket prices for the shorter Raws.

Why do the Speed champions never wear their belts on Raw or Smackdown?
