Some live notes from last night's WWE Friday Night Smackdown taping.
The digital signs outside the Barclays Center listed the show as sold out and the venue was extremely full with all of the suites utilized as well. We are told there were well over 11,000 thousand at the show.
After the taping ended, Cody Rhodes gave a speech thanking NYC for being a great crowd through the double taping and gave a young fan a signed Cody weight belt.
WWE has several exclusive shirts for the event, including a Cody Rhodes "Brooklyn Nightmare' shirt, a Smackdown Brooklyn 2024 shirt and a "I Love You Brooklyn" shirt.
Broadway star Lin Manuel-Miranda, a huge WWE fan, was sitting ringside. His new musical adaptation of classic film The Warriors was released this week.
Before the show went live, they aired a video of WWE archivst Ben Brown presenting Smackdown memorabilia from the past, which I thought was a cool idea.
A MASSIVE amount of the crowd was following the New York Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series game during the taping, so you'd hear random Yankees chants or groans depending on how the game was going for the Yanks.
The LA Knight-Nick Aldis segment did not air live in the building.
The legendary George Napolitano was in the house shooting photos.
The New York Liberty's mascot Ella the Elephant was backstage visiting with her "cousin" Bianca Belair:
