Thank you for the nice piece on Mr. Koff. I'm writing this now because Ring of Honor pulled me back as a lapsed fan from the late 70's to early 2000's. Looking back is Ring of Honor the true hero of wrestling during the pandemic. They kept paying employees and the three hour block every afternoon on Stadium was something to look forward to daily.
Mike Johnson did a great job on that piece, for sure. Joe Koff was a wonderful human being. He did so many positive things for the wrestling business and he loved it as much as anyone I ever met. He will be missed.
Surely, there must be other tag team stories to tell than the “Ricky Morton face getting beatdown half the match”, right? There has to be more than successful one tag team match script for variety’s to engage fans! Can you name other tag team formula that could get over?
There are indeed. I see them on WWE TV all the time. Just watch, you will see them.
I don't think you addressed my question correctly, as you equated ultra-liberal with Leftist, which is not the same thing. If you had leftist friends, I'd be surprised. You also failed to talk about the Max the Impaler point and any of the capitalist critique as well. Just focusing on like, the first three sentences of my take. Next time you answer my questions, make sure to address all points, or you're just as bad as the other Dave =] Have a good one!
How about next time you ask a question that doesn't contain stereotypes and fact not in evidence? How about next you take into account that while you like to see women fighting men that other people most certainly do not? There is more to life than just your view of the world. Oh, and get ready to be surprised. I have a lot of leftist and ultra-liberal friends and a few of them told me that your question was ridiculous, just so you know.
Around the world they have Gunther battle heels because he is beloved. Why do you think they've not made the most talented wrestler on their roster into at least a tweener in the States?
Simple, WWE doesn’t rush things the way that other bookers do. They know that there already people that like Gunther and my guess is that they are waiting for the fans to turn him naturally, like they did with Roman Reigns. Trust me, they know how good Gunther is.
Is there anyone or anything in AEW you actually enjoy watching right now?
Honestly? Not much. They have a lot of great talent there and they can have great matches but I have been watching wrestling for over 45 years now (yeah, I am old). I have seen all of the moves and all of the spots by now. I need more than just matches to pique my interest and Tony Khan’s booking is so bad that I am not invested in any of his characters or stories because the creative is just terrible.
