IS THE OLD SURVIVOR SERIES FORMAT GONE FOREVER, PUSH ZELINA TRENDS, ELIAS, YOUTUBE SOURCES AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2024-10-18 10:00:00

Drew McIntyre staples a work?

100% not a work.

Do you think WWE realizes the PUSHZELINA thing keeps popping up?

They realize it.  They have staff that follow those trends for the company.  Whether they capitalize on it, well, that's another thing.  There is an audience that wants her pushed, for sure.  We will see.

With the Survivor Series PLE focusing on the WarGames match nowadays, do you think that the traditional Survivor Series multi-person tag team elimination match is a thing of the past?

I do.  I have a great nostalgia for the old 5 vs. 5 Elimination matches (the 1987 Survivor Series was the first PPV I ever ordered, we got cable the day before), but I realize that the spectacle of the match has greatly waned over the decades.  If anyone could bring it back to some sort of former glory, it's probably Paul Levesque's current team, but Wargames is what is going to drive the interest in the show this November, so I think the old format will likely go the way of the Dodo Bird, sooner than later.

Where do you think all this random footage of pro wrestling over the decades and places on YouTube came from?

A lot and lot of VHS tape traders and collectors.

Why doesn't Shawn Michaels book a thrown-together multi-woman tag team match with no storyline development whatsoever on an episode of NXT as Vince McMahon would often do on RAW, SmackDown or a WWE PPV during the Divas Era? Instead, Michaels frequently books as many as five women's matches, each with a meaningful storyline.

The same reason you didn't edit your question - it's not what he wants to do.  He wants to have something that makes sense.

What have Elias been doing since he's left WWE?

He's wrestling under the ring name Elijah.  I saw him have a pretty good match with Dan Maff for New Jersey's WrestlePro last month.
