ST. PETERSBURG, SLATED TO HOST POSTPONED NXT EVENT & REGULAR MLW STOP, BESEIGED BY FLOODING IN FLORIDA

By Mike Johnson on 2024-10-10 00:19:00

The city of St. Petersburg, Florida, which has hosted regular MLW events in the past year and was slated to host a WWE NXT live event this weekend, has been beseiged by massive flooding in the wake of Hurricane Milton.

As PWInsider.com noted earlier, Tropicana Field, located in the city, saw the roof torn off by the force of Milton's winds.

The storm has also caused a crane to collapse amid massive flooding and due to a water main break, the city has been forced to shut off drinking water citywide.

16 inches of rain have already been dropped on St. Petersburg, which is being locally described as a 1 in 1000 year event.

WWE has rescheduled this weekend's event for 12/20.  MLW has not yet announced when they will return to the Coliseum in the city, which was slated to host Slaughterhouse 2024, an event that was canceled in the wake of Hurricane Helene just several weeks ago.
