By James Kurokawa on 2024-09-29 17:42:00

New Japan Pro Wrestling Destruction From Kobe Japan:

1 - Yuji Nagata, Tomoaki Honma and Tiger Mask vs. Shota Umino, Ryusuke Taguchi and Dragon Dia

Umino pins Honma after a Death Rider.

2 - Yota Tsuji, Hiromu Takahashi and BUSHI vs. Jeff Cobb, Callum Newman and Francesco Akira

Takahashi trapped Akira in a standing figure four.   Akira goes for ropes but Hiromu hits a leg drop while still holding the figure four.  Akira taps out.

3 - Hirooki Goto vs. Gabe Kidd

Both men fight into the crowd and get counted out.   Kidd gets on the mic and said Goto injured his tag partner Jake Lee and said he wants a piece of Goto.   He demanded a No DQ Match.   Goto agrees and they continue to brawl.

Kidd brings in a table and a spike and tries to stab Goto.   Goto fights back and tosses the table and spike from ring saying he does not needed it.   Goto hits a GTW and a Shotenkai.    Goto hits a GTR.

Goto pins Kidd.

Solid match.

4 - Zack Sabre Jr, Kosei Fujita and Ryohei Oiwa vs. SANADA, Taichi and TAKA Michinoku

Ryohei Oiwa is the newest member of TMDK.  He just returned to New Japan from excursion in Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Oiwa pins TAKA after a Discus Lariat.

Taichi stares down Oiwa after the match.

5 - NEVER Openweight 6-man Tag Team Championship:   Hiroshi Tanahashi, Boltin Oleg and Toru Yano vs.  Yujiro Takahashi, SHO and EVIL

Lots of House of Torture shenanigans.   Tanahashi was about to hit High Fly Flow on Yujiro was attacked by Ren Narita who was supposedly injured.    El Phantasmo makes the save.   ELP hits a CR2 on Yujiro.   Tanahashi hits the High Fly Flow.

Tanahashi pins Yujiro.

The champions retain the belts.

After the match, Tanahashi shakes hands with ELP and Jado, welcoming them to Hontai.    Tanahashi did a guitar performance on the ramp for the crowd.

This feud between Hontai and House of Torture should be over.   Hontai beat House of Torture in 4 title defenses.   EVIL and company should have won the titles because House of Torture is so despised and people will pay to see them lose.   People will pay to see the babyfaces defeat the heels.

I still argue that Hiroshi Tanahashi does not need a title belt.   Neither does Yano.   The only one who benefits is Boltin Oleg but he should be a singles star, not a part of a tag team.

6 - IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship:  DOUKI vs.  Yoshinobu Kanemaru

Kanemaru quickly goes after DOUKI’s leg and focuses his attacks on the left knee.  DOUKI fights back from the figure four finisher and has Kanemaru trapped in the Italian Stretch No. 32.   SHO comes out and rings the bell which distracts the referee and DOUKI.

Kanemaru sprays DOUKI in the eyes with the Suntory Surprise.   Kanemaru hits a moonsault.   DOUKI kicks out.  DOUKI hits a German suplex.  Kanemaru applies the figure four but DOUKI gets to the ropes.    Kanemaru hits Deep Impact.  Two count.  They battle to the floor.   DOUKI hits a Daybreak.  Two count.

DOUKI hits Suplex de la Luna and pins Kanemaru.

DOUKI retains the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship.

After the match, SHO steals the belt and challenges DOUKI for Jr. Title.    DOUKI accepts the challenge.  SHO gives back the title and hits DOUKI with his wrench.   SANADA and Taichi make the save.

7 - NEVER Openweight Championship:  HENARE vs. Shingo Takagi

Good match.  Both men were stiff and snug in their strikes and attacks.

Both men laid in stiffest shots and they were exhausted.

Takagi lifted HENARE for Last of the Dragon and muffed the execution, where HENARE came down dangerously on his head.

Takagi pins HENARE.

Shingo Takagi wins the NEVER Openweight Championship.

Go watch this match on New Japan World.  Great stuff.

8 - IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship:   YOSHI-HASHI vs. David Finlay

Another good match.  Finlay and YOSHI-HASHI matched each other move for move.  YOSHI-HASHI hits a Crucifix Bomb.  Two count.   YOSHI-HASHI applies the Butterfly Lock.   Finlay gets to the ropes.   YOSHI-HASHI hits a lariat and a Kumagaroshi.  Two count.  YOSHI-HASHI hits a Loose Explosion.  Two count.   Finlay counters Karma with Prima Nocta.   Finlay hits Into Oblivion.   Two count.   Finlay with a Buckle Bomb and a Powerbomb.  Two count.   YOSHI-HASHI counters Overkill and goes for a cradle roll up.   Two count.  Finlay connects with Overkill.

Finlay pins YOSHI-HASHI.

David Finlay retains the IWGP Global Championship.

After the match, Hirooki Goto has words with Finlay.

9 - IWGP World Heavyweight Championship:  Great O-Khan vs. Tetsuya Naito

O-Khan used his power early in the match.   Naito went after O-Khan’s neck.   O-Khan switched to a submission game plan.  They fought to the floor and up the entry ramp.   Naito with a neckbreaker on the ramp.   Naito applies a Puma Blanca.   Rope break.  Naito hits an Esperanza.   O-Khan applies a knee bar and leg submission.   Naito gets the ropes.   Naito turns up the speed.  O-Khan hits a punch to the jaw.   The fight to the ropes and Naito hits a Frankensteiner off the top rope.

O-Khan traps Naito in a Sheep Killer.    Naito hits a Destino.  Naito goes for another Destino but O-Khan reverses into a Flatliner.  O-Khan goes for an Eliminator but Naito reverses into a Destino.   Two count.  Naito hits a clean Destino.

Naito pins O-Khan.

Tetsuya Naito retains the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Zack Sabre Jr. comes to the ring and cuts a promo on Naito.

Naito will face Zack Sabre Jr. at King of Pro Wrestling event in October.

Shingo Takagi comes to the ring and wants a shot at Naito.

Ryohei Oiwa comes to the ring .  Oiwa wants to challenge Takagi for the NEVER Openweight Championship.  Takagi accepts.

Naito gets the mic and says when he beats Zack he will choose his next challenger.  The camera pans to Hiromu Takahashi on commentary.    Naito recites the Los Ingobernales de Japon Roll Call and the confetti flies.
