Beyond Wrestling “The Septemberists”

9/28/24 Westerly, RI

It’s a cloudy day on the beaches of Westerly, RI. But I have my yearly fishbowl of alcohol (this is just a thing they serve here) and it’s not hot and I’m pretty stoked for the impending murder of Brother Greatness.
 

 Match 1: 50 Cal & Bobby Orlando (w/ Shark Bobby Jr) vs Prodigal Sons (Sammy Diaz & Lucas Chase) vs Channing Thomas & DJ Powers vs Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn) 

Good high energy comedic opener as three babyface teams have a good time introducing DJ Powers to the big stage in his new role in Bakabella Athletic. Despite this, DJ manages to actually take the advantage and lay a beatdown on 50 Cal for a bit. Prodigal Sons take control and this becomes a little more evenly contested. DJ loses track of who the legal man is and is hit with a sick trick cutter by a very legal Bobby Orlando for the win!

Match 2: Cold Rain Conway vs Handyman Jake Gray

Graduates of BIOPro clash. Jake is tooling Conway up but Cold Rain isn’t here to lose on the big stage. Hard hits from Conway, he cuts off a comeback with a huge backbreaker. Conway grabs Jake’s monkey wrench…Gray disarms him. Monkey Wrench flip and a sliced bread end Conway’s afternoon. 

Match 3: Paris Van Dale & Tiara James vs Notorious Mimi & Little Mean Kathleen

LMK is victimized early by the bad girls. Mimi with the tag to even things up, allowing LMK to finish them off. LMK on the mic reminds us that she’s getting divorced but Sidney Bakabella isn’t here because he faked an injury. She threatens to kill him and make his corpse sign the divorce papers. 

Match 4: Matt Quay vs Alec Price

Price’s Thursday night attitude has come right to Westerly. Alec with the immediate attack and lays Quay out with a high knee. Price tries the punt early but Quay rallies. Price with a great step up tonardo ddt for two. Bug one arm slam from quay! Big swinging AA for two! Price with a dropkick sends Matt to the sandy floor! Price is dragging him across the rough terrain! They fight against a surfboard and Quay swings from a rafter to send Price back. Price Powerslam into the sand! He goes for the punt but Quay collapses. He catches Price with a superkick and a blockbuster. Slingshot elbow drop! Kick out! Price finally stuns Quay and hits the pk for the win.
 

Match 5: Krule vs Brother Greatness (w/ Sammy Diaz, Lucas Chase & Tyree Taylor)

So I’m hype as hell for this. I’ve literally been asking for this match for three damn years. So….I had to make sure the band sponsored this when it was announced. Greatness is out looking confident…but his entourage tells the real story. Tyree looks SO WORRIED for BG….he knows what Krule can do. He begs him not to go through with this. “I got this” BG assures his loving church members. He begs his friends to head to the back. Krule is just a PRESENCE. Brother Greatness gets the mic and apologizes for what the world has done that turned him into an atrocity. He assures him that everyone loves Krule. And Krule decides the sermon is over and boots the good brother over. Greatness with a chop…that is 100% ineffectual. Big chop from Krule! BG hits a dropkick!!! Krule right up and chokeslams him to hell. Flipping chokeslam brings the church members through the curtain. Krule wants them to watch this beating. Scorched Earth! Krule pulls the pin at two?!? Uh oh. The prodigal sons hit the apron and Krule goes right after them. Tyree Taylor is out here with his chain! Krule remembers Tyree. BG with a crossbody to the sand! Flying knee! Flying bulldog! PK! Krule kicks right out! He goes for another Scorched Earth but he pulls the pin…AGAIN! He pulls BG up and looks to choke the life out of him. Tyree Taylor looks to a throw in the towel! The ref is completely distracted as Marcus Mathers slips in with a steel chair and blasts Krule! Brother Greatness hits a codebreaker!!! ONE TWO THREE?!? Brother greatness just pinned the IWTV champ!

Match 6: Drew Gulak vs Julius Draeger

This is the Beyond match that makes the most sense for Draeger. He clearly wants to be the kind of stretcher that Gulak is. Unfortunately, Draeger might be a BIOPro graduate…but he is being taken to school right now. After a prolonged scramble, Draeger does get a hold of Gulak’s neck but the experienced vet turns this around quickly and taps the kid out. Gulak on the mic says that he’s heard Draeger running his mouth about being better than all the other BIOPro students…well after that match? Gulak thinks Draeger may have a spot down at Catch Point where he can learn how to WIN. Are we starting a school rivalry???

Match 7: Bryce Donovan vs Aaron Rourke

Bryce takes his sweeeeeet time getting ready as the rain starting to trickle in on the beaches of Westerly. Rourke controls the grumpy big man early but Bryce turns it around and dedicates this beat down to a particularly mouthy kid in the front. Rourke with a dive to the sand! Bryce hits a pumphandle suplex! Rourke is just getting battered around the ring. He avoids a chokeslam into the cement and shotguns Bryce into the corner! Flying codebreaker! Meteora! Kick out! Reversal into a X Factor! Rourke misses a 450 and Bryce is ready with the chokeslam for two. Bryce is getting angry at the ref for stopping him from beating on Rourke. It’s enough distraction for Aaron to start dropping shots into Donovan’s knees. A figure four looks deep but Bryce is so tall he doesn’t have to fight far. Popup bomb! Flying punch! Rourke with a spin kick…he up top but Alec Price hits the ring to talk smack at his opponent for next week. Bryce hits the rope and crotches Rourke. One big powerslam later and Donovan gets the three. Boooooo!

Main Event: Ray Jaz vs Tyree Taylor vs GAL vs Rex Lawless vs Marcus Mathers vs Armani Kayos (Elimination match for a shot at the IWTV championship)

We’re using Elimination Chamber style rules (minus the chamber itself). 2 start. 3 minute intervals. Last person not eliminated gets the shot! It has officially started to rain. 

Gal vs Marcus Mathers kicks us off. Gal shows his power early. Marcus with a back kick and chops up Gal on the outside. Ray Jaz joins the fray! Marcus and Gal have a good time ganging up on the young prodigy. Tyree Taylor is out next! He makes quick work of Jaz and Gal, who are now tired after all that hard work they put in beating on this kid. Gal tries to lift him? No. Tyre with a discus clothesline and eliminates Gal! 

Marcus is more than happy to help Tyree beat on Jaz….but this is a competition and Taylor smashes him into the buckles. Rex Lawless enters the contest! It’s time for big Men to slap some meat! Jaz tries to get involved….and he Germans Rex?!? Ray with a crossbody off Tyree to Marcus! Tyree with a cutter into the top rope on Jaz! Uranage backbreaker to Marcus and Rex almost gets the pin! Kaiju fighting continues as Armani Kayos joins the match as the final competitor! Alabama slam to Marcus! Rex blasts Kayos with a big boot! Tyree back in but Ray Jaz chokes him into the top rope. Rex hits a double chokebomb on Tyree to eliminate him!

Kayos and Marcus hits stereo dives to Rex and Jaz before squaring off. Kayos is having a great showing right now as he almost puts Rex away?!? Kayos misses a moonsault on Jaz. Rex hits a tombstone and Jaz leapfrogs a splash to eliminate Armani.

Are Jaz and Rex on the same page? Marcus doesn’t wait to find out and flies in. Miscommunication! Rex gets kicked out of the ring…Ray get rolled up…Marcus pins him! Did I just hear thunder?

Huge spear from Rex! He starts screaming at Marcus for all the opportunities he keeps getting. The young prodigy starts unloading superkicks and knees on the big man. Marcus misses a dive…Rex with a boot to the back! Chokebomb! Kick out! Marcus brought to the top but he stuns Rex and hits a superplex! Brain buster! Marcus gets the three and secures another shot at the IWTV champion!

Now quick, break down the set and get it dry before the show at Ralph’s tomorrow!
