"Jersey" Joe Wilchak, who was a member of the mighty Atlas Security during the heyday of Extreme Championship Wrestling as well as ROH and other promotions, has entered hospice after a long battle with lung cancer, PWInsider.com is extremely saddened to report.
Joe's family are currently taking messages for him via his Facebook page, which you can find by clicking here, and invite everyone from the pro wrestling world as well as fans, to send their stories and messages to Joe so that they can be read to him.
On a personal note, Joe has always been an incredibly wonderful person and someone who put his own body on the line to protect fans and performers alike in some pretty dangerous environments and he has my utmost respect and love. In recent years, he had retired and moved to Florida, where he had been an avid cyclist. I wish him and his family all the strength possible as they navigate this unfortunate turn of events. We ask that you keep him and his family in your prayers and thank you for doing so.
