Why do some people say that you make up the questions here? You have answered many of mine over the years.
There could be a lot of reasons for their lunacy but I will go with the fact that Mommy and Daddy didn’t give them enough attention as children. Sorry, I just saw Full Metal Jacket again and it was the first thing that popped into my head. But in thinking about it, something made them lying losers so it actually could be lack of attention. Or, they are just the kind of freaks that start and/or believe conspiracy theories. Beats me!
Why does WWE even bother setting up the announcer’s table anymore? Every week on Raw and Smackdown someone clears the table, sometimes twice on one show if no one is put through the table the first time. Clearing the announce table on WWE has become as common as headlocks in the 70s or repetitive spots, bad booking and blood in AEW so why does WWE even bother setting it up?
It’s a trope, for sure, but hey, the announcers have to sit somewhere. The table makes an inviting target for wrestlers but you make a good point, it is overused. I think WWE needs to dial it back a bit.
Recently in AEW we've seen injection with a needle, suffocation with a plastic bag, and multiple instances of chair shots to the head. Not to mention all the ingestion of blood, which seems to happen on a somewhat regular basis. All this stuff makes wrestling unwatchable to me. Is stuff like this setting wrestling back 25 years? And given what we know nowadays about medicine and CTE, what is Tony Khan's fascination with a) deliberate and direct transmission of blood-borne pathogens, and b) unprotected chair shots to the head, which, gimmicked or no, has absolutely no place in wrestling these days? There's no way Tony can honestly say he is doing all he can to protect his talent while he allows stuff like this to happen regularly.
I agree with your last statement. In fact, in my opinion, Tony is enabling the talent when he should be protecting them from themselves. CTE is real and we know how people get it. Blood borne diseases are real and we know how they are transmitted. Yet, the things that you mentioned happened. I don’t think it’s setting wrestling back at all. WWE is doing great business. I think it’s just making AEW harder to watch for fans that used to like and have since tuned out. All Out was freaking disgusting to me. I have zero interest in AEW after the plastic bag BS and the horrible real violence in the main event. That product is not for me.
How is last year’s All In the "paid" pro wrestling attendance record? Are we to believe WrestleMania’s 32 and 38 didn’t sell more than 81,000 tickets in a venue with 100,000+ people for its capacity? Did WWE inflate their figures by almost 20,000 people? Is TK correct with his claim or not?
It's all semantics and also who you believe. For instance, WWE has said for decades that WresteMania 3 did 93,173 people. A”journalist”, who has been proven wrong a lot, has always claimed it was about 15,000 less than that, due to what a source told him. Um, I would never that unless I could factually prove it and that brings us full circle: I can’t prove all of the huge house gates so I honestly can’t separate fact from fiction here other than to say I doubt anyone who has been proven wrong consistently.
Last year, before the sale to Endeavor was finalized, there were a number of lawsuits by WWE stockholders who were trying to stop it, claiming things like Vince was only selling to Endeavor, even though there were better offers, because it was a way to keep himself in power. Given that almost immediately after the sale was finalized, Vince was stripped of a lot of power and has since been ejected from the company, I’m just wondering, did any of those lawsuits end up going anywhere or were they just dismissed?
I haven’t heard a thing about them so my guess is that they have been tabled. They don’t have grounds, as you mentioned.
