NYC STREET CO-NAMED FOR LEGENDARY GLEASON'S GYM, HOME OF JOHNNY RODZ'S WRESTLING SCHOOL

Gleason’s Gym, which is known as the world’s most famous boxing gym and also houses WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz's wrestling school, was honored with a street co-naming ceremony at the corner of Adams and Water Streets in Brooklyn on 8/22, PWInsider.com has learned.  The intersection is now co-named Gleason's Gym Way.

Among the names who trained at the school over its existence include Taz, Tommy Dreamer, Bill DeMott, numerous members of The Dudley Boyz, Prince Nana, Matt Striker, Big Bill and many others.  WWE Wrestlemania Celebrities Mike Tyson and Floys Mayweather Jr., among an infinite number of other boxing stars, have trailed at the boxing gym, which is the oldest in the United States,

Gleason’s first opened in 1937 in the Bronx and changed locations several times, but has been located in Brooklyn for decades.  It is now located at 130 Water St. in Brooklyn.
