I was watching the AAA PPV and someone named Larry Dallas was one of the announcers. Who is he?
Dallas is from the Northeast and worked as a manager for EVOLVE and Dragon Gate USA. He toured Japan for Dragon Gate and later did some commentary work. He's been used on a lot of the AAA shows for English commentary.
Any chance Abyss returns as part of the TNA-WWE-NXT relationship?
I would really love that as I was always a huge fan of Abyss' work, but he's been long retired and working as a Producer for WWE. I don't imagine he'd want to return to the ring, but I think the idea of him making a cameo to assist PCO and dole out a chokelam sounds like fun to me.
I thought everyone is acting like pro wrestling is super hot again? AEW has half-houses, TNA, NWA, MLW, etc. all run small venues. New Japan isn't what it was. WOW is a TV series that doesn't tour. These other companies are small indies. Am I crazy or is it only WWE that's hot?
No, it's not you. WWE has tapped into a new generation of fans who love their product right now, but the other companies have not seen WWE's rising tides raise their ships. I've made the argument on audio that while there is a lot of content being produced (and some of it is very good), WWE is what's truly hot right now and everyone else is far, far behind them. Given the machine WWE has evolved into under Endeavor, I don't know that anyone will ever catch up. It may take years before anyone can come close.
I noticed PWInsiderXTRA puts up new WWN shows, but I thought WWE bought them when they bought EVOLVE?
No, that's not correct. WWN was the parent company and sold EVOLVE off. They still operate in Florida, running under the WWN and SHINE brands.
Any update on Abdullah the Butcher's health?
I know he took himself out of the hospital to appear at The Gathering in Charlotte. The word that weekend was he would return to the hospital after, but I don't know if that was the truth or just a story being tossed around. I do know he continues to deal with a lot of health issues, including needing a hip replacement.
