FTR VS. THE ACCLAIMED & MORE: AEW COLLISION REPORT

It is Saturday and AEW Collision is LIVE at the Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington TX, and it’s the last night of their summer residency.

Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.

Britt Baker vs Harley Cameron 

They lock up and move to arm bars. Baker gets an arm drag and then floats over for a two count. Harley gets a side headlock takeover and they trade rollups. Baker gets a quick suplex for two. Baker and Harley fight in the corner and Harley gets a clothesline for two. Harley mounts Baker and slams her head into the mat. Harley gets a series of shoulder thrusts in the corner and then a Russian leg sweep in the middle of the ring for two.

Harley runs into a big boot in the corner, and Baker slams her head into a turnbuckle. Baker nails forearm shots and a lariat and a pair of swinging neck breakers for two. Baker grabs the glove for the Lockjaw. Harley gets a throat chop, a soul food, and then a running knee for two.

Harley goes for a Russian Leg sweep, but Baker blocks it. Baker gets a big kick and Harley counters with an insigiri. Baker gets a sling blade, and follows with a curb stomp for the pin and the win.

Winner: Britt Baker

We then get Mercedes Mone and Kamille, and Kamille marches to the ring. Baker grabs a Kendo stick from under the ring, and Kamille takes it from her and breaks it in half. She then hits Baker with a pump kick. Kamille picks up Baker and carries her into the ring. Kamille puts Baker on her shoulders and carries her around the ring and slams her. 

Mone holds Kamille’s hand up in victory in the middle of the ring.

We then get a video package for the announcement for AEW All In Texas next year, July 12th. 

Next is a video package about the partnership between Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. 

Undisputed Kingdom (Mike Bennett and Matt Taven) Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions vs Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara

Dustin and Bennett start out and Bennett forces Dustin into his corner and they fight in the corner, and then run the rope. Dustin drops down to hit the uppercut, and Bennett dodgers it and lays in a big boot. Taven tags ibn and they work over Dustin and whip him across the ring. Thai time Dustin gets the both with drop down uppercuts. 

Sammy is tagged in and he hits a cross body of Bennett and Taven. Sammy clotheslines Bennett out of the ring. Sammy then drop kicks Taven out of the ring. He dives from the ring into each of them. Sammy and Dustin pose and then give Taven a double flapjack. Sammy covers and Bennett pulls him out of the ring. Sammy goes after Taven on the floor and as they brawl, we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Sammy has been the babyface in peril as Taven and Bennett work him over with quick tags. Sammy gets a Spanish Fly on Taven and crawls to his corner. Bennett tries to get him off, but Sammy gets an insigiri and tags in Dustin, who cleans house.

Dustin hits shattered dreams and a crossroads on Taven, and Bennett breaks it up at two. Bennett takes a crossroads after he gets a spinebuster on Sammy. Mortos and Roderick Strong run to the ring and Mortos gets on the apron. Roddy takes advantage of the distraction and gets a sick kick of Dustin and Taven covers for two. Roddy slides a chair in the ring, and the Von Ericks run down and put the claw on Morton and Roddy. The Gates of Agony run the ring and join the brawl. The Conglomeration joins the brawl and it’s utter chaos.

In the ring, Taven gets a small package on Dustin for two. The Kingdom set for the spike pile driver. Sammy takes out Taven will a bulldog front he top and Dustin gets a back body drop on Bennett.  Sammy gets a 450 front he top on Bennett and Dustin covers for the pin and the win.

Winners and NEW Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions:  Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara 

We get a series of AEW stars making their prediction of the Swerve Strickland vs Bryan Danielson match at All In. 

Chris Jericho is with Renee Paquette and he says that Hook is stupid for returning when Jericho has blinded him. This is Hook's last chance at the FTW title and he will lose. He then says he wanted a warmup and that was Tommy Billington. He says the original Dynamite Kid wouldn't like him. He trained in the dangerous, and he’s a modern day Stu Hart and he will teach him a lesson in the UK at Collision. He and Renee do a quick bit about his yellow jacket.

Hologram vs Angelico w/Serpentico

They started with arm bars and then slime hold/counterhold. Hologram drop kicks Angelico and then just hits a running spear from the ring onto the floor, and Holograms just spikes himself into Angelico’s chest as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen,  Hologram gets an insigiri and then walks the ropes into a tejaris. Hologram comes off the apron into a DDT after Algelico tries to block the move for two. Hologram gets a pickup into a fFireman carry into a front slam. Hologram tries a 450, but Angelco dodges. Anglico gets a insigiri and a side suplex into a cradle for two. 

Hologram gets a mule kick, leaps onto the back of Angelico into a hurricanrana for two. They reverse back and forth. Hologram tires for a sunset flip but turns it into a rollup for two. Hologram gets another cradle for two. Angelico gets a roll up and Hologram gets a crucifix rollup into the pin and the win.

Winner: Hologram

We then get a video package about the Tiger Driver 91 and why Will Ospreay retired the move.

Jack Perry vs The Already In The Ring Danny Orion

Perry hits a running knee for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jack Perry

“He don’t get paid by the hour!” Jim Ross

Perry pulls out plunder from under the ring. He lays out a body bag with Darby’s name painted on it. Perry then spray paints half of Orion’s face like Darby Allin’s face. He puts Orion into the body bag and zips it up with the TNT belt. Perry then pulls out a new TNT title belt and leaves the ring.

We then get a video package showing the feud between the Bang Bang Gang, House of Black, and the Patriarchy. 

We then get a video promo from the House of Black as well as the Bang Bang Gang. Then we see Christopher Daniels and says that at All In, there will be a four way ladder match, with the fourth team determined next week on Collision. 

Claudio Castagnoli vs Lio Rush

Lio tries for an arm drag and Claudio blocks it. Lio tries for an octopus hold and Claudio turns it into a gut wrench pickup. Lio is able to land on his feet for a cutter and a one count. Claudio gets a big boot and Lio is rocked back into the corner. Lio leaps into a backbreaker from Claudio. Claudio gets a second backbreaker and stretches Lio in it. Claudio moves to a rear chinlock and we go to picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, Lio leaps off the top and tries for a poisonrana and Claudio blocks it. Lio kicks his way free and dodges an attack by Claudio. Lio gets a pair of Pele kicks and Claudio drops to the floor. He leaps into Claudio's arms. Claudio tosses him back on the apron and Lio gets a tejaris. When Lio gets a running charge, Claudio launches him into the crowd. 

Claudio returns to the ring and waits. Lio gets in the ring right before the ref counts 10. Claudio gets the uppercut for two. Claudio lays in uppercuts and then sets for the Ricola bomb. Lio escapes and goes for a quick series of strikes into a rollup for two. Lio gets an insigiri and misses a leap for the top Claudio gets the pop-up uppercut for the pin and the win. 

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli

Next is a promo from Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway. Kris says she has no problem facing Willow Nightingale and Tomohiro Ishii. Stokley says whoever wins at All In picks the stipulation for Willow vs Statlander at All Out.

We get a promo from home from Eddie Kingston. He says he is seeing Bryan Danielson as being disrespectful. He’s going to get beat because he doesn’t have the fire anymore. He asks if Bryan is going to step up or is he just going to lose because he doesn’t have it anymore.

Mariah May w/A shoe vs The Already In The Ring London Dior

May stomps her down in the corner, hits a hip attack and storm zero for the pin and the win.

Winner: Mariah May

The lights go out. We get a video from Toni Storm titled “My Final Gift”. Storm says she is depressed and he says to go see the great clown Pagliacci. Storm says he should pay to see her. She then goes over how she will beat May, and the woman who loved Mariah May will give 

May then goes after London with the shoe.

We get a backstage rap from the Acclaimed about their match with FTR

FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) w/Billy Gunn — Winner faces The Young Bucks at All in for the Tag Team Titles

The match starts at an hour, thirty-two minutes and we are told it is a 30-minute time limit.  I’m betting that will have something to do with the finish. 

Bowens and Dax start out and neither can get an advantage when they lock up. They then move to headlocks. Dax gets a shoulder tackle off the ropes. They run the ropes and Dax gets another shoulder tackle and a small package for two. Cash and Caster tag in. Caster gets a side headlock takeover and when they run the ropes, Cash gets a shoulder tackle. Cash holds out a hand to help Caster up and he ignores it. 

They lock up and Cash is shot off into the ropes and gets a shoulder tackle. They lock up and Caster shoves them into his corner so Bowens tags in. Dax is able to tag in and they work arm bars. Bowens gets a headlock takeover for two and then gets a second and the work to their feet and into the corner. Dax and Bowens trade blows in the corner and Bowens is able to get five in the corner before Dax carries him out. All four men are then in the ring and The Acclaimed get back body drops and FTR go to the floor. 

The Acclaimed wait in the ring for FTR. Bowens gets back on the apron and Caster is forced into FTR’s corner. Caster is knocked to the floor and FTR double team him here as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Bowens works over Dax with a quick series of strikes and kicks for two. They have a series of waistlocks and Dax gets three suplexes. Cash is tagged in and Caster pulls Dax out of the ring. Bowens and Cash trade quick rollups for two. Caster gets a blind tag and Cash nails him as he comes into the ring. Cash calls for the spike piledriver, but Caster hits Dax with a back body drop and Cash leaps into a gut punch from Caster.

Cash is able to go to the top and Caster meets him there. Caster gets a suplex from the top and lifts Cash into a vertical position when Bowens hits a cross body on Cash for the two count. Caster tags in. They go for a double suplex on Cash, and Dax catches him. Dax shoves Bowens into Caster and FTR get a double team rollup for two. 

Cash gate a power slam on Bowens. FTR gets a giant bulldog on Caster for two as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Bowens has been kept in the ring by FTR. Bowens gets out of a sleeper hold with a side suplex. They throw hands in the middle of the ring. Dax gets a DDT and both men are down. Caster and Cash are tagged in and Cash hits a big lariat after taking out Bowens. He then gets a big uppercut on Caster. Cash gets a Gori special on Caster for two. 

Cash knocks Caster down repeatedly with short arm clotheslines. Caster is able to get a double thrust throat chop. Caster gets a power bomb and tries to roll up, but Cash rolls through for two. 

Dax is tagged in and they toss Caster to the floor. Dax pulls in Bowens and Cash gets knocked off the top. Caster gets a cross body off the top for two. The Acclaimed try for a double team move, but Cash gets in the ring to break it up. Cash spears Bowens and Dax rolls up Caster for two. 

Bowens is tagged in and Dax tries for a sharpshooter, but Bowens shoves him off and hits a dragon screw in the corner. Bowens tries for a sharpshooter and is shoved off. Dax gets the sharpshooter and Cash holds Caster from breaking it up. Caster gets in and Dax locks him in a sharpshooter. Bowens hits a famouser on Dax for two.

This is a great match. 

Both men are down and struggle to get up. Cash and Caster are also on the floor, unable to tag in. 

Bowens is up first and tries for a suplex, but Dax blocks it and puts Bowens on top. We are told five minutes remain. Dax joins Bowens on top. Dax is knocked to the mat. Cash and Caster fight on the apron. Caster is knocked to the floor and Dax suplexes Bowens off the top and Cash hits a frog splash for Dax to cover for two and Caster breaks it up.

Dax and Bowens trade slaps on their knees. Dax gets a fist to the head and FTR sets for the shatter machine, but Caster breaks it up. Acclaimed hit the shatter machine Dax for two, broken up by Cash. Caster gets the Mic drop for two, but Bowens and Cash grappling run into the two of them to break up the pin. All four men are down. 

All four men throw hands in the middle of the ring. They all fight to theory feet and Caster is dumped to the floor. They hit the Shatter Machine on Bowens for two and Caster breaks it up. We are told one minute to go.

Caster gets a rollup for two. Dax gets a small package for two. They knock each other down with blows and Cash and Bowens are fighting on the floor. Dax gets a shoulder tackle for two and the bell rings.

Time Limit Draw

Everyone stays in the ring after eventually everyone is throwing hands. 

Tony Schiavone has been informed that both teams will be going to Wembley. 

Security pulls them apart and we are out of time!
