8/10 NEW JAPAN RESULTS FROM SENDAI, JAPAN

From Sendai, Japan:

1 - Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano and Katsuya Murashima vs. Francesco Akira, Callum Newman and Great-O-Khan 

Akira forces Murashima to tap out to a Boston Crab.

2 - BUSHI, Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi vs. Gedo, Gabe Kidd and Jake Lee

Lee taps out BUSHI with a front face lock choke.

3 - Tomoaki Honma and Shota Umino vs. Dick Togo and EVIL

Umino pins Togo after a Death Rider.

G1 Climax 34 Matches:

4 - Boltin Oleg vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Both big men threw each other around the ring.  Oleg hits a Kamikaze.  Two count.  They traded multiple German suplexes.  Takeshita jumped up for an offensive move but Oleg caught him and hit an F-5.  The crowd was going crazy for this.  Oleg hit another Kamikaze.  

Oleg pins Takeshita.

Boltin Oleg has 6 points.

Konosuke Takeshita has 8 points.

Big win for Boltin Oleg.   He was a young lion just 8 months ago, now he just beat a major star in multiple companies.

The loss is big for Takeshita because this may keep him out of the quarterfinals.

5 - HENARE vs. Ren Narita

Narita used his tricks to get an early advantage.  HENARE hits a Bezerker Bomb to take control.   HENARE hammered Narita with and kicks.  Narita went for HENARE’s ankle and a submission.  HENARE got the ropes.  HENARE tried for Ultima.  But Narita grabbed the referee.  The referee tried to pull away and went to slap Narita but Narita ducked and the referee slapped HENARE in the face.   You heard the gasp from the crowd.   Narita pushed HENARE into the referee and chop blocked HENARE’s leg.   HENARE was able hit a Māori Drop.   But no referee to count.

Narita grabbed his push up bar and smashed HENARE in the leg.   Narita applied a knee bar.  HENARE rolls out of it.   Narita goes for a Double Cross and misses.  HENARE hits a punt kick and a Rampage.  Two count.   Narita escapes the Streets of Rage, hits a low blow and a Double Cross.

Narita pins HENARE.

Ren Narita has 10 points.

HENARE has 6 points.

6 -  Hirooki Goto vs. El Phantasmo

Good match.  The crowd cheered for both men.  ELP hit Thunderkiss 86.  Two count.   ELP wanted Sudden Death, but Goto was exhausted.  ELP tries to revive Goto.  Goto hits a headbutt and an ushigaroshi.   Goto hits a GTW.  Two count.   ELP reverses out of a GTR and hits Sudden Death.   Goto escapes out of a CR2.   They trade near falls.  ELP traps Goto in a crucifix pin.

ELP pins Goto.

El Phantasmo has 6 points.

Hirooki Goto has 8 points.

ELP blocks Goto from getting to 10 points and sharing the lead in B Block.

7 -  Jeff Cobb vs. David Finlay

Finlay takes the match to the floor and into the crowd.  Finlay is favoring his taped left shoulder.   Finlay pounds Cobb in the face with elbows.   Cobb goes for a deadlift superplex.  Finlay counters into a Dominator.  Two count.   Finlay hits an Acid Drop.  Two count.  Finlay hits two powerbombs and Overkill.

Finlay pins Cobb.

David Finlay has 10 points.

Jeff Cobb has 10 points.

At this point, Finlay is in the lead, Narita at second and Cobb at third.

8 - Yota Tsuji vs. Yuya Uemura

Solid match.  This match is what the future if New Japan wants to be.  Both men hurt their arms in the match.  Tsuji hit a Malo Crash.  Two count.  Tsuji goes for a Gene Blaster but Uemura turns it into a crucifix.  Two count.   Uemura grabbed his right arm.  Tsuji went for a Falcon Arrow.   Uemura rolled Tsuji into a cradle.

Uemura pins Tsuji.  

Yuya Uemura has 8 points. 

Yota Tsuji has 8 points.
